I've always dyed my hair before washing it, my hair stylist recommended me not to dye it when my hair is clean, but I have to dye my hair today and I've just washed it. What kind of an effect would it make on my hair?

It isn't recommended to dye clean hair. The dye takes better if your hair is a little dirty.

They recommend that you wait 24 hours. It may make it very dry as washing takes out some of the hair's natural oils.
