A quick note to "animalworshiper"'s answer below. You seem to have very little knowledge of Hindus and Hinduism. Yet you chose to show your contempt. Its a pity that you chose to rejoice your ignorance. For your information, in Hinduism, like all everything else, Idol worshipping is optional. One school of thoughts believes in one God who has no shape. Another doesn't believe in God at all. But they are not excluded from the religion, instead these schools are recognised as in integral part of Hinduism and are recorded in the Vedas.

And yes some Hindu Brahmins do have beards. I found no relation to religion though.

That's funny! As soon as I posted my note, "animalworshiper" above changed his ID to "clay doll worshipper". Didn't knew you can do that! Also confirms my suspicion that he's a pro heckler.

Because when they're fasting, they can sneak little crumbs out of their beard and cheat and no one will notice.

In some religions it is stated in the scripture that one must wear a beard. In Hasidic Judaism a certain passage of the Torah stating loosely that no man shall cut the hair below his temples is followed very closely. I'm not too sure about other religions, but an interestung fact about the Amish and beards; an Amish man must nolonger cut his beard after marriage.

As you know each and every religion links back to one or more messangers from GOD Almighty. Messangers of GOD were pious and beard persons. In case of religion people seek guidence from those persons. That's Y we see the religious people are beard ones.

It was actually a spelling mistake from the original messengers. They meant to say, "you should all have BREAD."
