I try my hardest to live a life for God. I know lots of other people that say they are Christians, but they don't live that kind of a Christian lifestyle. For example, I believe sex was intended by God to be between a husband and wife. That is what the Bible tells us. I've heard Christians say things like, "To each his own." I think that's an excuse. I'm not perfect and don't claim to be, but I see so many Christians getting drunk, having wild sex, and doing other things of this world. Is there anyone left that wants to live a life 100% for God. Please don't give rude answers and comments.

These are not true Christians if they are doing this. Any born again Christian who has been saved has the Holy Spirit working in them and they come to a point in their lives where they don't want to be amongst the evil and the wicked. Real saved Christians also sacrifice loosing friends and even sometimes family members because of their change in lifestyle. I know this because I have experienced it. I use to be a bartender and also read tarot cards, etc. Because my husbands really good Christian family took the time to talk to me and show me what I was doing to my life and my after life, I turned to God for help. I repented every sin and accepted Jesus as my saviour and became saved and born again. I also burned every tarot card and book I had and I quit bartending. It says in the Bible that bad company corrupts good morals. None of us are perfect nor will we ever be, as we are all sinners, but real Christians will follow God's ways and not go out of their way to sin. We will all stumble once in a while but being saved, we are judged by grace. To answer your question, yes I want to be 100% Christian and God knows I work at it everyday.

I would ask if there are any true churches. They are the ones telling you that a lot of the things true Christians are doing are so wrong. Actually a lot of the stuff they prohibit is not really prohibited in the Bible.

Where in the Bible does it say not to smoke? Does it say one cannot drink and get drunk at all or does it just say it's not a good idea? Was Job a godly man when he was drunk and had his sons cover him naked? When Solomon had hundreds of concubines to gain wisdom of knowing what a life of folly was like so he could write about it, was he ungodly?

I do know it says not to eat pork, shellfish etc.

The modern churches are filled with and run by these same questionable people and hence the practices they forbid are just as questionable and up to opinion as to whether or not they are actually sin.

While I consider myself a Christian, I cannot help but to wonder as to what extent many of these rules of living are simply put in place by losers that are ugly, unconfident or boring and hence decided to be priests because they either can't do or do not enjoy doing the things they forbid others from doing. I am not saying sleeping with a lot of others is necessarily good, but just how bad is it and how much harm does it REALLY do compared to other things?

By comparison, I see the huge success of violence on TV and movies while pornography is banned like a mortal sin. It seems the churches have managed to convince us that rampant sex is far more evil than killing. Not enough real killing going on? NP we'll just make some up. 95% of these people that would never watch pornography will sit through a murder story without even questioning themselves as to why they want to see it. Something fishy here.

All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Yes there are some true Christians left. You know you may have the sex and getting drunk managed but what is your sin? If you say that you don't sin then you are saying that God is a liar because the Word of God says that if any man say that he has not sin he makes God a liar. And God is not a man that He should lie. Neither is He the son of man that He has to repent. True Christians would pray for these people and ask God to help them. Remember, 'with love and kindness have I drawn them'. May God Bless

A "true christian" is someone who thinks there was a "jeebus" and claims to follow "him". Period. Any other definition is an attempt to evade responsibility for those who share your religion. Worse still are those who deny the religion of those they disagree with; to say, "Ted Haggard isn't a 'true christian'" is as honest as me saying "Joe Stalin wasn't a true atheist".

That means Martin Luther King Jr. was a christian, but it's also equally true that pedophilic catholic priests are christians, Adolf Hitler and the Nazis were christians, Dennis Rader (the BTK serial killer) is a christian, Ted Haggard is a christian, Mark Foley is a christian, George Bush is a christian, Slobodan Milosevic is a christian, the KKK are christians, etc. etc. etc.

What does that list prove? It proves that religion has nothing to do with morality. I know plenty of decent christians, but I've seen just as many hypocrites who use religion to rationalize and justify the most obscene behaviours. Neither having nor not having religion has any bearing on one's ethical or unethical behaviour.

When someone like yourself says, "I'm a christian", you think it means, "I'm a good person". The reality is, saying "I'm a christian" is less meaningful than saying "I like 'Sponge Bob Squarepants'", because at least people who watch that have a sense of humour; liking Sponge Bob says something objective about the person.

Aside from that, your statement about your religion means nothing, and that's not a criticism or an insult.

There are alot of true christians in the world, but its impossible to live a perfect life. Even God tells you this. You try to stay as close to God as you can, he loves you even if you can't. The closer you can stay to him the further you are from the devil. The devil knows that he is defeated but he is still trying to take as many with him as possible. He will never stop tempting you. Gods love descends all, he will never stop loving you. I believe as you do but still find it hard not to sin. I feel that sex is for husband and wife only. To do so outside of marriage leaves an open door for the devil. Don't get discouraged, just try hard to remain faithful.

I think there are many Christians left all over the world. Unfortunately many of us are more interested in by other aspect of the life instead of God. I think, but is a personal opinion, that doing your "hardest to live a life for God" you probably help many and many people even if You don't know it exactly.

The Xtian walk isnt supposed to be easy. We are supposed to be little Christs or followers of Christ. Therefore it means living/imitating his life...
the difficult part is that everyone can interpret Xtianity and the Bible in different ways to suit their agendas or personal beliefs...we all do it to some extent. I honestly think that a life of purity and ultimately abstaining from anything that corrupts you mentally, physically, spiritually will bring you closer to God...and this perfection is impossible but we have to try because I think it will make us realize how hard it is to be a believer and how screwed up we are and how undeserving we are of forgiveness and how much we need God to keep us in check because you can easily end up acting like self-righteous uber-holy prick. Living for God isn't easy at all.
Yes, there are people like you out there....keep reading the Word and asking questions. Stay humble.

You'd be hard-pressed to find them but for certain there are... but you may not have met any or many of them as yet. And I don't mean those self-serving, self-righteous, or even born-again Christians either--they're mostly nothing but hypocrites, a whole lot of them!

Many claim to be so-called 'Christians' but what they really mean to say is that they belong to this or that church. And it's the same church that preaches to them that anyone not belonging to their group will go to eternal damnation! Their supposed-piety is all for SHOW ONLY, like each time they dandy themselves up and dress their best for Sunday services. Clearly, the moment they step outside their churches they're back to their old, usual ways just the same.

Instead, stay on the course of the True Path by following The Law and simply pray for those lost souls!

Peace be with you...

I think you don't have to live a life for God to be a true Christian, but for yourself, respecting and loving all other beings, human and not human. And mainly, following Christ's words, not changed and adapted by centuries of interpretations. All of us are sinners, there is no escape, the important thing is to realize it and try to improve...
