No. All people fall short of the Glory of God. People are hypocrates, deceivers, haters, murderers...not a religion.

I happen to live in Colorado Springs. There are a lot of hurt and confused christians. This is a tragedy. I realize people don't like christians because most judge, and condemn, however we are all human, we are all tempted, we all make mistakes. I will pray for his family and his church family as well. For those who think it is funny, I pray that you would have compassion to the 14000 members, and be respectful.

Since when did hypocrisy depend on a political position? And who says that all evangelicals are in the pocket of the Republican Party? I'm proud to call myself a pro-life, evangelical Democrat, especially since "pro-life" and "Democrat" are not usually used in the same sentence. So if I can help dispel any other stereotypes about Christians, please let me know and I'll be happy to do so.

This is a loaded question. You start it from the position of assuming that the entire Christian 'right' is hypocritical. Have you studied the lives of every Christian 'right' citizen? Let me ask you a similiarly loaded question and see if you can see why it might be offensive. If a white man refuses a black man service because of the color of his skin in an establishment in which the white man is the owner he is a racist. Does this mean the one white man's actions sum up the ideas and mentality of all white men? Are ALL white men racist because this one man has acted foolishly? Of course not. Neither are all Christian 'rights' corrupt and hypocritical because of one man's sinful judgements. Contrary to your statement of belief that the Christian right is hypocritical, you can not intelligently persue this idea for all 'right' Christians soley because of the actions of one man.

So the answer to your question is no because the entire Christian 'right' is not hypocritical and one Christian man's sin does not condemn us all.

To answer you spiritually....

What man is not a hypocrit somewhere inside? So if you feel you are sinfree and holy enough to look at any other person and call them a hypocrit, you are one as well, because God has said that no one is without sin - whether you believe in God or not. I could spend the rest of my life believing that my house is red, but the truth is that it is blue regardless of what I believe. The only way to escape being a hypocrit is to love and forgive and do not judge (lest you be judged in the same manner).

Paul talks about the conflict of living with two natures inside in Romans 7:14-25. He says, "For that which I am doing I do not understand for I am not practicing what I would like to do (Christian beliefs) , but I am doing the very thing I hate (fulfilling the fleshes desire)." He is talking about the nature of the flesh verses the nature of the spirit which is born again in Christ. He asks the question, "Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Rom 8:5 says, "Those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, and those who are according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit."

Paul taught us that if we live by the Spirit (being born again by accepting Christ) let us walk by the Spirit, meaning let us act out what we believe and live by. Christ gives us the ability (grace) to deny temptations, but a man who has his mind set on the flesh will follow the ways of the flesh because God has given all of us the freewill to choose the destination of our lives. Where we set our mind is where we will follow. This is human nature.

Phylosophically speaking....No man's candle every burned brighter just for putting another man's candle out. It sounds from your question like you believe that Christianity is hypocritical based on it's people. If this is so then you have denied God because of people and not because of God. If you let a "hypocrit" stand in between you and God, the hypocrit is closer to Him than you are. I hope this is not true for you. May God speak to you and bless you. He already loves you.

This event, in my opinion, shows up the hypocrisy of the American justice system. Guilty before proven innocent therfore condemned by those who are vengeful without proof. Condemned by a press system that does not require proof, only allegations.

Does taking a few events in one person's life and allowing them to stand for all events in all people's lives who hold one thing in common with that one person sum up the profound misunderstanding of all secular humanists?

I feel sorry for his wife and kids. How could any man put his family through that.

He should have been honest with himself and other people from the start, and not pretend to be something he isn't. Would have been his own business if he wasn't hurting anybody else but he has so he deserves all he gets.

There are some people on the Christian right whom I respect although I don't necessarily agree with all of their viewpoints.

Unfortunately, there have been a number of individuals who either became a minister to boost their ego or who, when they achieved fame, became enamored of themselves and forgot that their mission was to portray Christ, not themselves, to the world.
