Do you see you life is simply the outcome of a man and woman who have sex together?
Do you see your children (if you do have kids) simply as the result of you making love with the spouse?
And how do you run your life? Unpurposely? Do you answer my question without a goal that you want to achieve?

A person's life begins without a purpose. Then the person can give it a purpose of their own. My life has a purpose, because I gave it to it.

Yes I do. I am here on this planet because the ovum and sperm containing my genes got lucky. I believe we are all here on this planet as a result of a cosmic accident.

But this does not mean that my life has no purpose. I give myself meaning and purpose. I run my life the way I want to live, in order to achieve what I want to achieve. I don't believe in the afterlife, so my life is extremely precious to me and I plan to make the most of it.

I believe that wherever you derive your purpose, whether from a belief in god or just a personal ambition, life can be meaningful and satisfying because YOU make it meaningful and satisfying for yourself.

Incidentally, I do see my (future) kids as the result of sex. But that does not demean their life in any way. It is also up to them to decide their own meaning and create a sense of purpose for themselves.

Guess what? I *am* the result of my parents' love and desire for each other. My children are the result of the same thing, as we all undeniably are. And you know what else? My children are of above-average intelligence, don't worship ANYTHING, and are doing quite well, thank you. My goals and what I hope for their future are most probably very close to whatever hopes you may hold for your children. Except, I will not lead my children into blind worship of a sky fairy.

What exactly is Random about the act of sex?

I'm fairly certain that whenever a child is made, the act of sex was deliberate.

The undeniable truth is that children ARE a direct result of sex...

Man is that he may have joy. We have been born to see if we will try our best to obey our Lord and Savior. We are trying to work our way back to the presence of God the Father, His Son and the Holy Ghost. God wants us to do good works, but we can never repay Him for His sacrifice, the life of His Son, so it is then by His Grace that we are saved in spite of all we do.
