The USA and NATO have many plans and contingencies for war with many countries. One scenario would be an air strike using cruise missiles at the missile sites of North Korea. The Objective of the strike would be to delay the Nuclear program for up to 5 years.

Risks: The USA and the UN must be united in this effort. Japan is at risk with a North Korean Nuclear program. China would also have to agree that an attack on North Korea was in the best interests of Asian stability.

Your jumping the gun.....
We are still in talk mode, not war mode. Planning is just that, planning. We have plans for everything. There is likely a Invading Canada in a desk somewhere. You also tend have blinders to the fact we need the backing of the regional partners (Japan, South Korea, China, ) before any thought of shooting starts. You also lack any follow up for what next? What to do with 13 million starving people who have never had a Coke, let alone have a computer..... China & S.Korea don't want that human wave on their borders.

China wouldn't allow it. North Korea will be disolved and end up creating larger US ally right in front of China's door step. China would try to contain situation so North Korea stays communist state. That's why China worked quickly to push North Korea into six party talk.

Omg...we arent gonna get into a "war" in the usual sense with NK, instead we will wait until other elements breakdown and weaken. Don't assume a war is enevitable, its not that far gone yet. Also, another senario to consider is China....what will they do?
Theres the next big confrontation to be sure.
With Bush in control, our list of allies is thinner now.

By the way...Sparky is prolly right.

That's the trouble with the way war is fought these days. There should be no long term plan. Go in, Kick tail, Convince the enemy of your superiority and Go Home!

I live in San Diego, so if North Korea hits us with a long range nuke, odds are I'll be among the first to go.... so, no long term plans.

Are you retarded? Are you going to be one of the people who will go to another war? We're not even done with wars in two countries and you want more? War is avoidable and you know it. It's just you and others who are obsessed with war that you would risks innocent people's lives for your own gains. Read my name.

Yeah! Lets get em! Then when we're done, lets go back and kick Vietnam's butt too! Go back and finish the job! Then I say we take over Canada once and for all. I don't trust them, they're too quiet! Surely they're up to no good. Raar!

On second thought, nah.
