have them talk with a therapist to see what the problem may be, they may be able to releive it with cognitive therapy or if it's really bad and nothing seems to help maybe meds may be an option.

O-R-G-A-N-I-Z-E: If your desk starts to look like an episode of "Sanford&Son" it could contribute greatly to this epidemic. If the top of your desk (once again) is cluttered, frustration will soon ensue. This will be in the form of "Papers you cant find when they're urgently needed.A continuous "search and rescue"to find a pen or a pencil.By this time you may even be looking for your crayons. This scenario also can have a phsycological effect simply because the miniscule cubicle you have been working in,will appear much smaller than it already is..How is your Caffeine intake? Is it more than one gallon a day?.....or worse two? Maybe you also have the type of boss that wants everthing completed,"Yesterday".Check your job descriptions.Your duties are entailed in there.Do what it says to the best of your ability, and omit what you've been doing over and above your call.Lastly, the cliches, the gossip, the watercooler banter.DO NOT GET INVOLVED.You can't hide the fact that you were talking behind the persons back who's now looking you straight in the eye. Your face can be read, like a dimestore novel.Easier said than done,is this.Leave your homelife AT HOME.Make work a safehouse where you can shed the doldrums of the daily routines (good or bad) that you are faced with at home.If you are capable of M.Y.O.B. the battle is almost won.Gossiping,or running someone down ALWAYS gets back to the subject. You want more air that you can't cut with a knife? Keep up THAT trend and you'll probably need Zorro.Lastly keep in mind that this is how you've chosen to work and you knew beforhand of the entailments of the job.If you can function following these few tips? You still have 66% of your day left for yourself.Good Luck to All.

Accept that you have a group around you and you should be happy is not enough. Your brain is telling you that your expectations are wrong. Do some investigating and see that you are an outsider in a group. Be happy because it wont get better ever but at least you wont have brain burn and depression waiting for perfection. There are secrets in life and you just don't know any.

Write about it. Put it all on paper, every aspect. By doing so, your adversary is confronted, face to face. This gives an awesome feeling of superiority and makes the symptoms of the depression seem so small.
Look for news articles of people with much greater problems and SOLUTIONS!
FIND A WAY TO MAKE YOUR FRIEND LAUGH, REALLY!
Last but not least, PRAY!

Ahh good question. Working out or running or just doing something different something positive is a way to feel positve. Alot of chemicals in the body from foods or products can bring people down. Try to do a body detox which flushes the toxins out of your body and find the nearest Trader Joes (Traderjoes.com) around to get some good organics at some surprising prices to give yourself a positive healthy kick. Check out what your goals are then follow these four aggreements, "Dont cast negative word to others" (basically just realize that every word has a huge amount of power which not only effects others but effects you as well), "Dont take anything personal", "Dont assume", and "Try your best at everything you do". Everything you do. Alot of times there could be so much negativity around that it sucks away the positive. Try to do what you feel is right and do your best at it. Dont take anything personal. If someone doesn't see eye to eye with you just remember your the only one looking through your eye and its you who knows if you tried your best regardless of what it is you do. If you make mistakes just acknowledge them and try your best not to make them again. We live in a world full of negativity and we ourselves have to make the difference. If we become happy with ourselves love and happiness will surely be there. Those four aggreements could be so hard to follow. Its amazing how many of us break these aggreements daily and give it no thought. We are capable of so many things and all we have to do is apply ourselves. : )

Depression stems from a pre-occupation with negative thoughts, brought about by the accumulation of negative thoughts. The way out is to fill the mind with positive thoughts to a level where the equilibrium is regained. Positive thoughts include encouragement, humour and unconditional love for others.

are you asking what you can do for your friend or for yourself.
listen. offer your support and love. lead by example. offer how you deal with your depression.
Being as loving as you can be, accepting you have no power over others, is the best for both of you.
Knowing your there, will help a friend, being there for them will help you.
