what is the difference between step output and synchro output of gyrocompass?

gyrocompass used in ship or vessel.
step output is dc and dsynchro output is ac.
step output is 35V or 50V or 70V dc { +ve ref or -ve rer}
synchro output is 24V rms or 50v rms like that.

Step Output: the output of a signal (often just a pulse) at regular intervals around the circle of rotation, i.e. 360 pulses per revolution would give you 1 degree precision.
Synchro Output is used to give you a reference for the "zero" pulse of the step output, i.e. one pulse per revolution.
Whether they are DC or AC depends on the system design, and what they are driving.
Compare the frequencies of the signals you get.
