If you finished high school, you should have learned that the crusades were the result of chasing occupation forces out of the European countries.. The Moors to be precise. Those who didn't want to leave were either forced out or killed.
This was the first attempt by the peace loving Islamist, to conquer other lands..It is now taking place again, on a world wide scale. Something so many seem to be loathe to comprehend.

the crusades where more then several 100's of years BEFORE luther nailed his letter to the church door.
the crusades (= killing and looting) where done in gods name !
so was the burning of women who would collect herbs = witches!
look up "spanish inquisition"

because they got confused as to the real lessons jesus taught, and started thinking about what they wanted. The holy land. It would make the papacy greater with it. Jesus was a traveler, he couldn't have cared less, IMO to have one specific place to call his own.
