I just want to know if there's a software tool that compresses a file to half of its original size? If there is, where can i get it? Is it a freeware?

mp3 compresses music.

flash compresses video (as does any software using a codec)

winzip compresses files of all kinds.

WinRar is another really good program. It's a little bit more flexible than winzip in the types of files it's compatable with.

Winzip, and the last time I checked, it was freeware...or at least you can use it for a wee bit for free...

Might I suggest http://www.tucows.com to help you find what you need. Everything they have is either freeware or shareware.

Google win zip. They always have a beta version that I've seen anyway.
