zero, there are already eight balls of three different colors,
the maximum number you could remove would be like iamigloo said,
except you'd have to leave that many in the box if you wanted to leave at least eight in the box of one color,
if you take more than 26 out you may not be left with 8 of each,
the 27th ball taken out is possible 9red, 9 blue, 9 white
