I have a HJ Monaro with a 253. Experiencing overheating. Ideas?

The 253 is stock and the previous owner didnt mention any probs. Have done a radiator flush, replaced thermostat and radiator cap. Need to drive long distances and summer is coming. Help!

Check timing with timing light.
What fuel are you using ?
HJ was designed for leaded fuel you may need additive.
