The sebum (skin oil) get washed away, and your epidermis absorbs water. As it absorbs water it swells, but since the epidermis is "tied" down to your dermis in certain spots, it expands more where it is not "tied" down and this causes your skin to wrinkle.

We get wrinkles in the shower because our skin cells absorb water to maintain the same amount of moisture that surrounds it. This causes the skin to swell making it look wrinkled.

Scientists have studied these wrinkles and it has to do with the amount of water your body absorps during periods under the water as skin is not waterproof as we like to think it allows things in and out. However your hydration levels have something to do with it also if you are well hydrated then the wrinkles don't tend to appear or be as obvious.

Well, this is an easy one :>...
Your body produces essential oils to keep your skin conditioned and supple, if it did not, your skin could not breathe and be as pliant as it is.
Washing, swimming and likewise causes these oils to be stripped away from your skin and as the largest organ of your body, it takes some time for the oils to be secreted again from the pores of your skin...my daughter calls it "pruney", she suffers from this condition a LOT, since she likes to swim and spend hours in the tub.

Because the oils on your skin get washed out for a little while and it takes a couple minutes for the oils to come back.
