My hubby just got home in September!!! If you don't live on base and have military wives as friends, I suggest joining a Yahoo group for military wives... it's good to talk to others who've been there.. and are there for that matter!!!

My nephew is over there. At first he was near the Syrian border and it was OK. The people were friendly. Now he's been in Ramadi for a few months and somewhere else in Anbar Province that he isn't allowed to tell about. We send a few boxes over a month with extra food and drinks to remind him we're thinking of him all the time.

Hopefully, things will quiet back down once Saddam is sentenced and the sentence is carried out. Also there is more violence in an attempt to effect or elections this Tuesday.

The situation in Iraq is very complex and many Americans don't realize the facts. I think that your husband will be fine. there are some killed and injured every day, but that is a tiny percentage of the whole number of people we have over there.

I am one, hopefully of many, who prays for our
troops and the stability of Iraq every day.

I have a step-nephew so to speak, currently in Iraq. He was more like a son to me, and regardless of the danger, I know this little $hit will be coming home. He's just too damn rotten to be killed. Meaner than a snake and twice as snake like. He'll be coming home and it will be on two legs, maybe not laughing, but he will be coming home alive.

Can't say that for many others, but he'll be coming home safely. He's meaner than hell.
