spot reduction is the biggest myth. so u bench pressing just strengthens the muscle underneath but doesn't do anything to the fat sitting on top. go for some cardio, u can also add a circuit training program for your muscle conditioning. last but not least... eat a balanced diet.

The only way to lose fat on your chest is to lose body fat, you cannot spot reduce, or train to lose fat in a specific area. It is probably unlikely you will be able to bench press 135 forty times by the time June comes around. What you will want to measure is your overall strength gain by getting a 1 rep max. It would not be unheard of if your 1 rep max went up say 20 lbs, 30 lbs max (depending on your age and how intense you train). Besides, if you are a football player, your bench is not going to be the lift you want to improve in the most. You want to be strongest and most efficient in Squats, Cleans, Deadlifts, and probably Push Press. Those are lifts that transfer over to the athletic field much more efficiently than a bench press. Lower body strength and core strength are what counts in football...trust me.

doubling? As in 270 x 10? That would be very, very difficult to do at your size. I'd shoot for something manageable. You're already very strong for your age and size. Shoot for 205 x 10 in a year's time. Oh, and when you can do 185 x 7 (throw a 25 on each side), that means you should be able to bench 225 once. That's a very good feeling, seeing all that weight on the bar.

You need to lose body fat to see definition in the chest. Also you need tro bench more than 135 if you can do it 10 times. doing 150 4-6 times is better than doing 135 40 times. You should always be lifting a weight that you can lift for atleast 4 times but no more than 6 if you want to gain mass and strength. lifting any weight forty times is just stupid. all your doing is making your muscles fatigued. Go here and check out the max-ot training sereies. Read it all and apply it.

increase the weight lower the reps and get your cardio elsewhere
you can gain more at 5 to 6 reps of the highest possible weight
this is for bulk and strength not tone the more muscle the less fat and cut the diet to high fiber no carbs but whole grain& vegetables avoid fat dairy and meats your loose the fat avoid also sugar and oil and sulfites drink lots of water at least a gal a day fruit is good this a heart and artery diet but good otherwise
