Because it is hard to BELIEVE, that is why those who have it call it FAITH. I don't I'm an atheist, but ALL religion is about FAITH.

Why? Probably because you were reading it and not studying the words written. If you think the books of the Bible are chapters out of a Robert Jordan story then you are going to just zip through it. I have read the books of the Bible often, but in the last three years I have studied the books in their entirety twice; and have found more paths to the Christ and more answers than any other source of life on this planet. As for the crap? Yes it's in the Bible, but the lessons of all the human crap is always the same. God forgives all every time you ask. God loves in such a deep passion that the complete Holy Bible can only give us a glimpse of His majestic and powerful love.
When you study the books you find that all the crap is man made. God is not responsible for our own stubbornness. We are: and God shows you and I what that is throughout the Bible, still He loves us.
I can't say if there is any other way to find God but I'm sure that in your search for Him you will find yourself back at the pages of the Holy Bible. When you get back there study His words, and I think you will find that when we come to worship Him we do it on His terms not ours!

The Holy Bible Douay-Rheims Version
With Challoner Revisions 1749-52
1899 Edition of the John Murphy Company
IMPRIMATUR:
James Cardinal Gibbons, Archbishop of Baltimore, September 1, 1899.
Pope Damasus assembled the first list of books of the Bible at the Roman Council in 382 A.D. He commissioned St. Jerome to translate the original Greek and Hebrew texts into Latin, which became known as the Latin Vulgate Bible and was declared by the Church to be the only authentic and official version, in 1546.
The DR New Testament was first published by the English College at Rheims in 1582 A.D. The DR Old Testament was first published by the English College at Douay in 1609 A.D. The first King James Version was not published until 1611. This online DRV contains all 73 books, including the seven Deutero-Canonical books (erroneously called Apocrypha by Protestants). These seven books were included in the 1611 KJV, but not in later KJV Bibles.
The whole Douay-Rheims Bible was revised and diligently compared with the Latin Vulgate by Bishop Richard Challoner in 1749-1752 A.D. The notes included in the text were written by Dr. Challoner.
The DR Bible was photographically reproduced from the 1899 edition of the John Murphy Company, Baltimore, Maryland, by Tan Books in 1971. Eventually, this edition was optically scanned to produce a large text file which this publisher used for creating this website, with the aid of text-processing software.
One important goal of this project was to preserve the original text "as is", without making any changes in the wording, because the original text had the Imprimatur of James Cardinal Gibbons, Archbishop of Baltimore, dated Sept 1st 1899.
The text file was checked quite thoroughly by software written by the publisher for punctuation errors and verses out of order. The index was humanly checked for misspelled words and the corrections were made to the text. However, some spelling errors may still be present in the text. Many verses were out of order in the original file. These have been corrected.
Every effort was made to ensure that this online version is an exact match to the original printed version. No words were added or ommitted from the text, except for correcting errors caused by the scanning process. No words were rearranged. No verse numbers were changed, except in the case of Psalm 9.
Psalm 9 originally contained 21 verses and there were 2 versions of Psalm 10, numbering 1-18 and 1-8. This obviously caused a conflict, so it was decided to make the first Psalm 10 as the last part of Psalm 9 and renumber the verses 22-39. This retains the same numbering as all the Douay Rheims. Note, in the Protestant Bibles the numbering of Psalms 10 through 146 differs by one.

this may surprise you, but the bible actually ''called this one in the air.''
1Cor. 1:18 ''for the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God.'' and elsewhere it states that the man who has not the spirit cannot understand the things of the spirit for they are spiritually discerned.
reading the bible, as far as your situation is concerned, will make you a christian just as soon as walking into a pet store will make you a cat. i know what it's like on both sides of the issue. i can understand the bible now. it used to be all nonsense to me, too.
belief is a moral rather than an intellectual issue. we will never be given enough proof to erase all doubts. that's what makes faith work; but by the same token, that also means no amount of reasoning will ever turn non-belief into faith.

Jesus founded the church to lead all men to the truth ... not the Bible.
You have been deceived by well meaning folks who themselves have been deceived.
Become a member of the one, true church and you will have access to all the truths God has revealed, many of which have never been recorded in scripture.
Then it won't be nearly as difficult to understand or accept, although some faith will still be required.
Otherwise, you're on your own!

I'm not sure who told you that, but it wasn't me.
Reading the Bible to prove its wrong invariably fulfills your expectations.
Read it with an open, searching heart and mind. If you desire.
The Bible is a sword that cuts both ways.

I'm sorry for you pal. I mean that you are in that group spoken of in the Word of God that has a stupor placed on them. Its like for your protection if you will.
Our Heavenly Father, God, sends His Son Jesus Christ to us that we can make a decision whether we will accept Him as Lord or not.
Its looking like its or not for most of the people in the world and you are included.
When a person makes the choice to accept Jesus Christ He sends His Holy Spirit to that person and give him unction. Unction to read the scriptures and glean the hidden truths from the Word.
It starts with a one on one with God. Humbly bowing to Him in repented nature. You can do it. Jesus is waiting for you to make the decision to choose life. Go for it.><>

God calls who He will when He will and few are called and many will perish. Too bad for you. However if you do not understand English any better than your question indicates it is likely you did not undestand anything you read or as I suspect is the case you never read it. Never read it did you?? I thought not.
