We speak different languages because we tried to build a tower to heaven and god god mad.
A man named noah built a boat large enough for every animal on earth to fit on while god flooded he earth and killed everything else.
If you dont believe what is written in a book than you will burn in a lake of fire for eternity.
The earth is 6000 years old
The oceans parted infront of the jews
man was created in a magical garden with an apple tree of sin growing in it.
Are these really the beliefs of christians? Are the christians a crazy brainwashed cult or something?

Yes, the holy spirit overshadowed Mary and she was with child....the son of God. Yes about the tower of Babel....that is where the word babble comes from. Yes, Noah had animals on the ark, two of each kind (and more of certain kinds of animals). No, dear....it's not a book you need to believe in, it's that Jesus was the son of God who died on a cross, rose again, and is the only way your sins may be forgiven. If you do not believe in that, yes you go to hell when you die.

I don't know how old the earth is. Some people have counted back the genealogies in the bible, they got 6,000 years. Yes, God parted the sea for the Hebrews to pass through. Man was in a garden, it was not magical....there was a tree of life and a tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Yes I believe all these things that are in the bible. And you would be wise to open the bible, read, and think about what you are saying before you call God's word crazy.

You got it...

These are the people who are "literalists" or who believe the Holy Book, litterally. They are sometimes called fundamentalists. The Muslim fundamentalists are the ones who are "invading" in the name of Islam and the "fundamentalist" Christians, Hindus, and Jews are the ones invading in the name of their Holy Books and their GOD. The Jews call their God, Yahweh or Elohim. The Christian call their God, God the Father ("God" being a word taken from the defunct and dead Goths (Goth empire) who, along with the Visigoth (children of Goth or God) and the Vandals (from which we got "Vandalism") invaded Rome and the Holy Roman Empire in the 4th century)

In Canada, our Minister of "homeland security" or something like that is such a believer. (the earth is 6000 yrs old).

So the wars and the horrors can be tied to the theological beliefs of the "fundamentalists" and their "expanding" empires in the name of God, Yahweh, Elohim, Allah, Krishna, Brahma, etc...

Sort of Sad isn't it....Well Information will set us free....The Internet will expose them all and People will see that the ONE, what is now called God, should UNITE and maybe changing the name of the minor Solar system "gods" for the more Galactic and Universal ONE, is a good step and a "meme" that should be spread as a solution reaching "global" peace on Earth...

Belief in God requires faith in which we may not understand.

The Bible and other religious texts are full of metaphors and ancient rights, which were performed many thousands of years ago.

Just as it takes faith, it also takes study to understand the context of these stories and how they relate to our lives now.

Christians are no more crazy, as you put it, than are Hindus who let cows roam their street rather than kill them. Fr they believe that that animal may be a relative or friend reincarnated.

If you belong to a religion and accept that belief, you will be asked to have faith in what you are taught. Even if it seems laughable. Such as a grown man dying on a cross for your sins and then rising again on the third day.

Alhamdulillah, Muslims do not beleive in any of the things you've mentioned above.

EXCEPT the fact that Jesus was born miraculously to the pious and virgin Mary without an intercessor.

Did you forget that at one time you were also nothing but a sperm in a lowly place? How then did God make you into what you are today?

this is what im starting to believe. i am starting to believe that yes, in some way alot of or all religions have become brainwashed cults to some extent. now im not stating this as a fact for some christians. im seeing that there are a few christians that are starting to get it. but yea most of them i feel have become misguided.for instance, the other day, myoss's husband and i started talking about god. he said that i wasnt a good enough christian because i go to church. i tryed to tell him why i didnt. he was a bit defensive and said my wife goes to church therefore shes smarter than me. then he proceeded to start talking about these preachers that sin and do bad things. i said see! this is why i dont go to church. i want to worship god alone where i know that im the only sinner here. i hate hypocrites. yes i believe church has mostly become about control.

and as far as the bible goes, i take the books as history and storys as how the people were able to interpret them in their day. like noah. i have a hard time believing that the entire earth was flooded. you have to remember that up until columbus sailed the ocean, everyone thought the earth was flat. the bible was written by man. whoes to say that one persons interpretation of what one person accounts for is completely acurate.its kindof like a chain story. it gets told. and the more it goes down the line the bigger and more exagerated it gets. as far as the bible goes, the only parts that i have complete faith in are the accounts of jesuses teachings. because these things were being documented as they were told and then there, can we really trust that, i have to believe. in jesus's teachings soly because have you ever read them. its hte fundamental list if things that people should live by to have harmony. love your neughbor, etc.

my relationship withgod has gone way past what any person could teach me. i tend to be clairvoiant at times and open to spiritual heights. whether god is the god of the bible or whatever, i do believe he or she exists insome form or another. god doesnt want you being so vigilant about your views that it starts controversy and war. shut up and live your live as peaceful and loving as you canto your planet and fellow man.were all equals. if we can stop being robots and be true children of light, this world would be a better place. and if god is that selfish that he would condemn his own children for their ideas and beliefs, as long as they are just and good, i dont know if i would want a god like that. i feel that everyone will be together in the end and if im wrong so be it. its not for us to worry about the after life. worry about the here and now. you make your own choices and mistakes. god wont make them for you. and he wont fix them for you eather. he just lays the little messages and hints before us from time to time to help guide us along whether it be anothers help, a story, whatever. pay attention to your gut instincts . a lot of times the answeres are right there staring you in the face. so everyone, lighten up. quit shoving religion and the way you think people should live down others throats and live by example. be kind and lovung to one another and youd be surprised how it will be returned to you.

Once upon a time people believe the world was flat - just because you do not beleive does not mean it is not true. It also does not mean Christians are brainwashed

Yes they really believe this. And yes it seems crazy. I am not a Christian because I personally find these beliefs to be unrealistic...........however, as long as a Christian leaves me alone and doesn't preach to me, I could care less if they believe in these things. That's their right.

"Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding."

BTW, if you consider how awesome God is, none of these things are that unbelievable.....in fact, starting with the premise that God created the entire world, everything else here seems much less difficult.

As it is written, "Is anything impossible for God?"
