I checked the oil and it was milky looking. Checked the coolant and there was a layer of oil on the top..... the car runs fine once it gets going. clue?

Also, the car had been sitting for about a month and this is the first time it has been started that I noticed this problem.

If you don't give your car oil changes and such then forget about it. A Roll's Royce will explode as well. Take your car NOW to the dealer. OIL out of the engine means that your engine blocks is crack , due to excessive use of OLD OIL. Let me tell you that when your engine blows up, say goodbye to your car. You have driven the machine with no care for it and you will pay for your laziness. Take it now, make an appointment now. Do not drive the car. The engine block will crack in half and all of it's internal components will be destroyed. I hate to say this, but it will cost you for your apathy. If you own it, you can sell if for junk, if its leased get ready to buy a old car.

well either some dumb smuck put antinfreeze in your oil or you blew a head gasket. I dont see how you would blow one in that engine since that was the year ford fixed that common problem with those engine's and they did a good job too. Did you leave the cap off for the oil fill?

fords during the winter are always milky but the problem exists in the coolant that usually means head gasket definately have this checked out b4 driving it too far or ur motor will blow

If I was you I wouldn't keep driving it like that.My Mustang did that and it had a cracked head and a blown head gasket.If you keep driving it you will cost yourself more money then the car is worth.Belive me I did.
