Some Christians think that as long as they find themselves in heaven with God it's totally fine that a person whom they care for might be in hell. WTF? So much for christian love and compassion. Are those chrsitains selfish?

I think what you just said was kinda mean cause we all have loved ones that may not have made it to Heaven and it's agonizing. I have an atheist daughter and God forbid she passed on it would be so horrible but to know she may not of gone to Heaven would be unbearable. To suggest we go to Heaven and not care about those left behind is so untrue. I've prayed and prayed for her but if she chooses in the end not to believe in God I can't make her and it will be her choice. These Christians you talk about aren't normal Christians. They indeed are selfish!

people make a choice wheather they go to heaven or hell on this side of the grave. when conviction comes because of the salvation message brought about by the Holy Spirit then they can make that choice. the Bible says there will be no more tears in heaven, this will only come about after the judgements have come about. but now there is tears in heaven because these things have yet come to pass. this is only one way to look at it , when we that are saved die and go to heaven, i believe we will be able to see those love ones that will be put into hell. that is the reason i believe there are tears in heaven right now. i don't think anyone is being selfish, just been truthful.

Well, this is just my thoughts on the subject, because the Bible doesn't say a whole lot about it, but how could heaven be heaven if you KNEW your loved ones were burning in the lake of fire for all of eternity? Now in Revelations, it says that God will wipe away all tears from our eyes, and it also says that we shall be made anew, so I don't see how He could ALLOW us to maintain the knowledge from this lifetime of our lost loved ones, or it would be hell in heaven! That's just my take on it....

EDIT
LYNN1955 :

I feel for you! 2 of my brothers killed themselves who were not believers and the agony of that knowledge haunts you forever!

No actually it is very painful and every Christian who has a loved one who is not saved prays for that person, often. It is often why we get tagged with names such as zealots because we believe and we so much want people that we love and even people we don't know not to roast in the eternal flames of hell

Is there a hell? If there is then how could the sacrifice of the cross, if you believe in it's effectiveness, fail to redeem everyone, otherwise the sacrifice could not be perfect. We are all on different levels trying to figure it out. Even the greed that permeates the earth.

No, it is not like that. When we enter our Fathers house, we will have such a different love and understanding. To think of it now is just awful. We can not begin to understand on the level of the Lord. One day we will know such peace and I pray my loved ones will be there too.You too!

There really is no indication that this could happen when one dies their life ceases and they rot . they are not raised from the grave and they don't get new bodies for purposes of imaginary places such as heaven nor hell .these are myths promoted with the intent of scaring people and persuading people to have a captive audience thusly sustaining a memeticly structured
religious cult. Christ didn't claim this but the imposed versions of
Christ do. if one really wants hell check the various legal systems throughout the world.

This question has been asked a dozen times. Those in heaven will not be aware of those who, by their rejection of Jesus Christ, chose to consign themselves to hell.

It is up to each person to make a choice about Jesus; I cannot choose for anyone else, including those closest to me.
