I have a old SONY trinitron TV set.... it's 29 inches... (not a computer CRT monitor).... Recently after watching for 5 minutes, the tunng screwed up... when i use my VCR for TV tuning, the TV is all fine... is it because there are too many dust gathering inside the set or maybe the capacitor had worn out???

There is a little agc module that the grounds go bad solder cracks this causes the picture to go out using the tv tuner, I would guess you are running a direct video cable from the vcr to the tv thus bypassing the tv tuner. So just re-solder the grounds and your troubles should be fixed

It would seem like the tuner of the tv is screwed, you could replace that at an added cost. Or a cheaper solution would be to use your vcr as a tuner, it can be used for that purpose as well. I have a vcr hooked up to my portable dvd player and am using the vcr as a tuner. It does the job and I have a tv in my bedroom.

Sounds like bad connections on tuner or the tuner itself is bad,a 200.00 dollar repair minimum.Keep the vcr it performs the same function as the tv tuner as you have already found out

this is very uncomplicated. The concepts in the different solutions are valid. I additionally see it with my AT&T U-Verse equipment. Programming gained in genuine time on the DVR isn't in synch with what's gained on different U-Verse receivers interior the domicile. this is a touch academic difficulty, because of the fact which you does no longer assume to be seeing/listening to 2 TVs on an identical time.
