This is a common thing amongst diabetics, so I'd suggest you make an appointment with your doctor and be tested.

I'm guessing you're in your forties, and gravity is taking its toll on your vertebral discs. Or that you have had some sort of trauma to your back sometime in your life. A herniated disc may place pressure on the nerves that lead to your feet and legs thus causing the "pins and needles" sensation. There are many exercises you can do increase muscle strength for better support of your spine.(ask any physical therapist) A combination of this and anti-inflammatory meds., like Advil should help. I would suggest to your primary care doctor that he/she refer you for an M.R. I. to rule out any other more serious condition.

It sounds like you have a pinched nerve. If it is bothersome you should see a neurologist. You would have to have ex-rays or CT scans done and then study your options. It may be that you have a pinched nerve due muscles or bones.

This could possibly be from the pressure on your nerves as you are sitting down. It causes them to "go to sleep". You can always go to webmd and browse there.

Sounds like pressure on a nerve. See a chiropractor to see whether this is it; if so, the chiropractor can give you fairly quick relief.
