I'm planning on living in Cardiff, Wales for a year and I can't bear to be away from my dog for more than a week. I'd like to bring her along for the ride, but I don't know how long the quarantine period is. I don't want to leave her in quarantine for too long, especially since she'll have to go through it again once we come back stateside.

Here is the deal.......

See this site and they will tell you how to avoid the 6 month quarantine. Start now, because it takes a while.

I do not think we quarantine incoming animals. I know many breeders who import dogs and there is no quarantine period. Usually just health certificate.

If you follow the proper guidelines, there should only be a small 2 or 3 day quarantine if any at all. Here is a link to the Pet Travel Scheme to the UK....read it through and make sure all bases are covered to avoid a 6 month quarantine....good luck!!!
