This absolutely will not hurt him. My mother-in-law is the office manager for a local dentist & you'd be surprised by how often this happens. He will pass it when he poops. He won't even realize it because teeth are so small.

This is not a problem. The tooth will not get lodge inside the body. Instead it will pass in the stool. (probably unnoticable) My daughter swallowed her first tooth and my son has swallowed one as well. It is amazing how those little teeth get lost when eatting.

He will be okay.
P.S. Make sure the tooth fairy still comes. Our kids were told that the tooth fairy still comes because she knows about when things like that happens.

When I was six years old, I had a loose tooth. While eating dinner, I apparently swallowed my tooth because it was nowhere to be found. I didn't even feel it going down. I turned out ok :) The only downside was that I didn't get any money from the Tooth Fairy.

My friend had this happen to him. Another time he also swallowed a pound coin. He went to the doctor about the pound coin, and the doctor said that he should come back if there was no change by the following week.

my son swallowed his at age 9, he was okay. I think my daughter did too now that I think about it. Its all part of nature. If it could be harmfull to swallow it then dentest would let us know. They would pull it at the first sign of a wiggle then charge us 50.00.

My son just did this today, too! My husband has an MD and he says it isn't a big deal, that it will just pass through his digestive system. It is too small to cause any obstruction.

I did this as a child, my mother said I pood it out later (I don't remember it). I'm sure tons of kids accidentally swallow their teeth! If he complains about pain or something I would take him to a doc.
