Very few people really know what they want to be at your age, you're still getting over the "I wanna be an astronaut" stage of your life. If possible go away to college. It's a great way to spend 4 years finding out who you really are, not who your parents want you to be.
I didn't really figure out what I wanted to be until I was 29. When it hit me, I wondered how on earth I could have gone almost three decades before I realized it.
I'll give you this advice:
Honestly answer the question "What makes me happy?" Write down the top 10 things that make you happy, no matter how shallow or silly they may be. Then think about how you can make a living out of as many of those things as you can.
For me, #1 was money. Money makes me happy. Piles of money so big I could swim in them like Scrooge McDuck! I've known that since I was 6 years old, but it took me 23 more years to focus on a career in finance.

Plenty of people don't know what they want to be, even when they're out of college! There's nothing wrong with not being sure of what you want to do with your life - it's a big decision and there are endless options.
It takes a lot of time and experimentation to find out what you like doing and what really catches your interest. Try taking a few classes in different areas (like painting, psychology, flying lessons, costume design.. anything!) and see what appeals to you the most. Look at different college/university courses and what they offer. Talk to people with professions that interest you. Ask your school career counselor for ideas.
Really, don't worry about it too much; you have a lot of time to figure out what you want to be. If you don't have a clear idea what you want to do after high school, try taking a gap year to travel, work, try out different classes, etc. You just have to find what interests you.
It'll all come together eventually. Try to focus on your life right now and enjoy where you are, don't worry about the future too much - live now. :)

I'm in HS too so I have just about the same delimma. Lots of people I know still don't even think about this stuff, so in that perspective, your one step ahead of the game. It takes a lot of soul searching and trying to find what makes you truely happy to figure out what you really want out of life. Its okay to not know by the end of highschool. Its also okay not to go to collage. What isn't okay is doing something with your life that you don't like and sticking with it. Thats the only bad option. There are lots of jobs out there and I'd suggest thinking about not only what living you want to make but what type of lifestyle you want. For example, do you want a big family or are you wanting to be a single city dweller? Depending upon what lifestyle you lead, and what your interests and talents are, do some research and find jobs that match you. Just remember not to think about your hobbies at this very moment, such as shopping, your boyfriend, food and areopostle, as they will change. Think about things like, am I really good with people? Do I want to have a boss? Am I the type of person who would be good sitting in an office all day? How much free time do I want for myself? And most of all try to figure out what your passion is. I believe everyone has a calling, it just takes work to find it. Remember also that experiance is the best way to figure some of these questions out, and some you need to really think about. Good luck.

Here is my best advice for you-go the college route. Many people think that college will be too hard for them or that they are too stupid for college, but that simply is not true. If you are intimidated by a big college, try a small community college.
Why do I recomend college? In college you get exposed to many different fields and you can find one that is interesting to you. whenever I first went into college, I had no idea what I wanted to do. Then I got involved in organizations and now I feel like I have found my calling in life.
It's ok to have no idea what you want to do, college will give you more time to explore and decide.

Your guidance counselor should in your junior and last year begin giving you tests that are geared to give you an idea of your strenghts and what you are interested in. If not, just ask yourself, what do you like to do such as computers, children, etc, and use that as a guide to decide what college you want to apply to. You definitely should keep that as a plan b/c bottom line, now a days, you cannot get your foot in the door without a college degree, so go ahead and do it while you are young! smile
