She was "impregnated" by the Holy Spirit or the Holy Ghost.
If you believe that, I have a bridge for sale...
The myth of Avatars or Messiahs who come from the ONE god to save Mankind usually includes the Saviour being born of "virgin". It is even the same in "the black arts".
Mary was not a virgin all her life as Jesus apparently had brothers , Some claim that James was the "brother" of Jesus. Others claim that "brother" was mistranslated and James was actually Jesus' cousin. Either way, Mary or Miriam was a virgin but did not remain a virgin after Jesus as she had other children.

If u read the story, it appears Joseph was gonna ditch Mary, but an angel explained 2 him y he should not. But y was he? Within the Jewish religion, a woman 1nce married then devorced is then considered a virgin. Was she pregnant via an x husband? Who knows, but it sounds logical don't u think? By the way, the Bible does not say there were 3 wise men. Anyhow, i still love God no mata the story.

The acount in the Bible goes as follows:
From the Book of Matthew Chapter 1 verse:
18 This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
19 Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.
22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
23 The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel— which means, God with us.
24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.
25 But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.
As you can see in verse 18 "was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit" and 20 "what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit" not from man but from God. God created the universe so to produce one child from a virgin is not a big ask for him, don't you think. In short a Miracle.
One more thing to note Mary did not remain a virgin as you can see in verse 25 above Joseph had no union with her *until* the birth of Jesus. It is known through other verses in the bible that Jesus had siblings. But the catholic teaching says that these children came from Joseph's first marriage. This is hard to believe when you take into account that divorce was very rare, and only usually granted in the case of infidelity. If this were the case Joseph would have been very lucky to have not been killed for his actions let alone been able to remarry. Remarriage was virtually unheard of in these times.

The fact that Jesus was born of a virgin was not only reported by writers of the time, but was also prophecied in earlier Jewish writings, as the sign by which the Messiah could be recognized. Since Jesus demonstrated that He was indeed God by spending His public life doing many things only God could do, the description of His conception and birth is not surprising in the least.

Jesus was put in Mary by the Holy Spirit; "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit."
Mary was a virgin until after she had Jesus. "But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son"

because she was a virgin when Jesus was conceived by spirit not after she gave birth and conceived her other children through ther husband Joseph then she wasn't a virgin anymore so i don't know why people still call her the virgin Mary she is just Mary that is what the bible call her.

How can I explain this without getting reported? A psychology professor I had a couple of years ago explained pregnant virgins this way: Sperm travels. It is possible for a man to impregnate a woman without actually having intercourse.
I'm not a Christian, so I don't know about this case specifically, I'm just explaining how it can happen.
