i'm in a long distance relationship and i feel that i'm not as interested in him as before. how do i tell him that i want to take a break? after i tell him on the phone, how do i tell him i'm going to get off the phone?

Breaking up is never easy. Long distance relationships are sometimes depressing. Tell him the truth how you feel emotionally. Saying you'd like to take a break for a while will sort of ease things if you ever decide to break up. Its not fair for you or him to be tied down in a relationship when neither of you can be together often and when you need each other.

call him and get strait to the point on the phone, after you've said your bit just say, "Well i think i'm going to go and let you think about this. if you still want to talk more call me back after a few hours." or if you want to end it completly with no friend-ness say, "I'm going to go then. Maybe i'll see you around. bye" and just leave, don't let him talk you into staying because then you might change your mind. go with your gut.
