For some time my mother-in-law has complained about a salty taste in her mouth. She has had her dental work re-done, but nothing has helped. She is also a diabetic. Any help?

she might have a case of what known as dry mouth or it could be from the meds she takes she should check with her dr. being a diabetic is no joking matter,she ha to be very careful

If she has any silver fillings, one of them may have a leak. Thats usually what it tastes like, salty or metal. Her Dentist should check them, if any

Get your mother in law to have a throat swab could be an infection or something more serious also have her blood sugars tested they could be a little high

Several medications alter taste sensation or create tastes of their own.

High blood sugars would cause a fruity (banana) or alchol-like taste.

normal for weight loss.
