No, they are not Godlike.
What some of them are is God-fearing.
A massive difference.

As much as we saw the public display of the Amish of Love and forgiveness, we did not see the private anguish that they have gone through and are still going through.
They have the same emotions as the rest of us do, and yes they felt anger and vengence. The difference is that they controlled their anger and dealt with those emotions with God and his word as their guide. They understood and understand that this mans family had nothing to do with his individual behavior, no more than the wife and children of the Pastor filling the news at the moment had anything to do with his now very public sin.
I live among these people and they do struggle with the same issues we all struggle with on a daily basis. They smoke and drink and hide their cell phones from view most of the time. We attend bible studies together and they even attend some of our church fellowship activities.
They dress differently and travel differently, but inside we are all the same, just wish we all could emulate more of their outside behavior.

They are good people ,but they are bound up in unnecessary bondage. Why not go further and live like the first century people did. Why progress to the 1800s and say this is where we stop?Could you imagine what the world would do to these people if not for the U.S's protection of religion? They would of been slaughtered 100 years ago.Imagine a peaceful people like this in the middle east.

While I don't suppose any of us are Godlike, I am also awed by the forgiveness shown to the family of the man who killed the young girls. Christians or not, I think we all have something to learn from the example they set for the rest of us. Good question!

They are the only religious group that still strives to be Christ like. Some of these predominant religions could learn a thing or too from these people but they are too busy counting their money.I was also moved to tears by the forgiveness they showed toward the widow.

They definitely do many things that the rest of us should consider more often. They demonstrated true forgiveness in this situation and relied on God to heal their hurts. They are people never the less and still need forgiveness themselves just as we all do and this can only be attained through Christ. I admire your candour.

I have been to an Amish community as a child and I just remember how pure and simple every single person and thing was. They are true believers.

We are all created in the image of God. We have free will to beileve in Christ as our Savior. We are forgiven of our sins when we come to Him and call Him Lord, repent and receive the blessings of God's grace. The Omish have faith in God and they have not conformed to worldly ways. I continue to pray more people will come to Christ and live with Him in eternity because of the action of forgiveness and the example Omish have been to the world. Forgiveness and love is what Christianity is. God loves all of us so much, He wants everyone to know Him. He is the only one who knows who won't come to Him. Christians would give up and would stop trying to be an example if we knew who wasn't going to heaven. I pray for those who do not know God, He loves you so much. Just think of the peace we would have on earth, it starts with you and the impact you can make on someone else's life who is lost like the man who murdered those children. God Bless all who read this. We all make mistakes and have many choices to make throughout our days. Christians are not perfect, just striving for excellance to find our purpose as we journey through this life as our prayers are answered by our loving God. We always have questions, that is what makes our faith stronger, for those questions that are not answered, we will find out when we meet our Lord. The Omish are awesome people and so are you. I hope they have captured your attention and curiosity to find what love, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control is about. Those are the fruits of the spirit. Galations 5:22,23 which can be found in the Bible. Your sister in Christ, linda

They are probably closer to christian behavior than us...Jesus forgave his killers....forgive them father, they know not what they do...perhaps God uses them to show us what we should be like....i am very humbled by them.
