History has shown that the world's religions change time after time. We've had Greek/Roman, Egyptian, Norse, Celtic and many others including several that are simply lumped into the pagan group.

So what does the future hold? What do you think will be the next bedtime story *** religious doctrine? Maybe one of those in use today or something new?

I suspect that fiction around at the time may have some influcence on up-coming religions so I think that the whole Cthulhu Mythos could have some sort of major influence some time in the future.

It's certainly a terrifying thought that there is something out in space that, to him, we are just another meal.

Islam has yet to reach its peak. It came into existence roughly 400 years after Christianity and is making steady progress. By the time it is matured it will probably be the dominant religion (and a new one will be in its infancy)

Perhaps something like Buddhism, that's currently in use today. The whole idea about reincarnation makes sense. What one does in this lifetime becomes the causes, and the effects of these causes will show up either in this same life, or in another life yet to come. More importantly, what we have today is justified as the effects of the causes of a previous lifetime.

I tend to think either Islam or Hinduism. Statistics are showing that they have larger numbers and tend to have more children than Christians do now. Also, given the fact that many disused Christian churches are being turned into temples and mosques (at least in my area), eventually they will number more than the caucasian people.

Paganism or any other kind of non-central free-form religion.
I would love to see Cthulhu worship (I'm even writing a book about it) and I think the stars are almost right....but we'll see.
