MICROSOFT office STANDARD EDITION PROBLEMS WITH WORD?

This program has been installed on my laptop for 3 months. No problems! Then i go to use word to complete my work, and the margins top and bottom dont work! I tired restoring defualts no luck, no i have to manual space the top and bottom margins in which is annoying so if someone knows how to change it back, (i have tried resetting the settings and it says the magins should be 1 inch by they arent) PLEASE HELP

Let's try resetting the normal.dot template:

Open a new blank document.

At the top, left, be sure you have selected "normal" - this appears to the left of the font name.

Set the font this way: click Format, click Font
Select a font.
At the lower left, click "default."

You will get a message that this will change the default normal template. Click o.k.

Now let's try to reset the margins:
File
Page Setup
Set all four margins to something that should be acceptable, such as .6 or .75.

Sounds like your normal.dot file (template ) is corrupted. Create a new one (open up a blank word document, get the settings the way you want, then save it as normal.dot).
