Start with a prayer, then tell a true short story (it doesn't have to have happened to you) that has to do with your subject that you're teaching. Bring up the topic and support it with scripture. Go into the details of the scriptures a bit at a time, giving supporting scripture if necessary, and informing your congretation of any specific words and what they meant in the original language of the passage. Tell simple stories throughout your sermon; they can be stories from the Bible or stories of people's lives; research the lives of people who are known or have been known to help kids on the street. Anecdotes are helpful for keeping your congregation alert, and they help them with the meaning of the lesson. But don't get carried away with them, and don't have more than a couple humorous ones, because then people won't take you seriously.

Your target audience is captive. What distinction does it make. you at the instantaneous are not in a personality competition and its not even a real speech. in basic terms commence with, "good Morning everyone." How puzzling might want to or not that is? From there you want to construct to an emotional crescendo in basic terms till now you pass the sequence plates. you should have one or 2 congregation contributors that you seem ahead to tears so that you comprehend even as the time is ideal. The more effective the emotion, the more effective the money. not something else actual concerns.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Then a short prayer thanking God, ask the Holy Spirit to guide your words so to uplift, bless, help, the listeners. Show your thanks and praise to God. Read a message from the Bible that might tie into your sermon. Starting with a question to the listeners might be a good way to start after the prayer. A question gets them thinking, involved. Later in the sermon, answer the question. You might want to tie the question into a Bible story. Singing prayers, etc. would follow.

A story, a personal experance, a joke.
Modernize the bible story your teaching, It all depends on what your teaching and how you are personaly.
Im wanting to become a youth pastor so the best advice I can give to you, is be yourself and when they talk, shut up and listen, we may want to give our 2cents but all they want is to be heard and loved, they have enough people giving there thoughts. But yeah as far as a sermon, have fun with it, use them to help you with parts if at all possible, make your points short but powerfull and easy to rember so they can walk away with it in there minds and be able to say it easly and the points will stay with them longer. Did i mention have fun? AND PRAY...The night before fast dinner or something and pray pray pray, somethings can only be changed in the spiritual by it, and trust me it will make it more effective, the prayer of the richous avalis much.
yeah, youll do good, im positive. :) good luck and run it by other people to, practice it before hand, get it down pat and if you mess up, oh well, its fine, dont beat yourself up for it though, if they see you screw up too, it will only help them relate to you more beacuse they see even more your not any better then them in alot of ways.

Brothers and sister, I am standing here before you today with a heavy heart. It has been brought to my attention by ???????
that there are children in need right here in(or there in) ????????. Will you please join in a prayer with me. (Insert your best prayer here for God to help you make the congregation feel like coming together to help out.)
Then tell them exactly what you would like for them to do. Ask them to help you form a committee to organize amongst your selves to get your needs accomplished.
"Brothers and sisters, I need your dollars", or "I need your contributions of money, clothing, time on site at the place of the need." Be specific in what you want from them. Call on a couple to ask them in front of God and the rest of the church, for a specific need.
"Brother Jinks, I know that t you have left over Blankets and jackets from your store that you did not sell last season. Would you be in a position to donate some of them?"
"Brother Samuels, do you still have that old tent that you used to use on camp outs? I know that you have not used it for over five years. Could you please donate it to our cause? Aned if any of the rest of you have sleeping bags or tents that you do not use, could ypu please do the same?"
Many people will sit and wonder what they could do. Give them a push, most will help if asked to do so. Especially in church.
Then get a comitment from someone in front of the rest to help out by helping ot organize the task at hand. But you had better be ready to do your part and sacrifice right along with the rest of them. Or nothing will be done. And no one will listen to you there after.

Same as with any public speaking format...
Introduction (Attention, motivation, overview, transition), Point1, transition, Point2, transition, Point3, transition, Conclusion (Summary, Remotivation, Closure).
Attention part would be something that would GRAB them hard, something emotional -- "how would you feel if..."
Central theme all the way. Body language. Passion. Practice.

Find scriptures that you want to talk to them about and do a word study on key words.
The Bible is full of wonderful things kids want to hear
forgiveness, love, Jesus, who he is, and what it means to be saved
How to live in this world, center on their level,
drugs, sex, crime, pain, love, and a reason to give their live to Jesus
Use vines topical Bible
