Min pins (short for the breed 'miniature pinscher' for those of you who don't know) are not especially susceptible to cancer as a breed. It happens with about the same frequency as other similar breeds or mixed breeds. That's based upon my own personal experience (I see a lot of min pins), and I am unaware of any studies that indicate otherwise. (Cancer is not anywhere NEAR the leading cause of death in pets, btw. I can list at least 9 more common causes....not counting accidents.)

What type of cancer did yours have?

I'm so sorry for the loss of your little friend. :-(
My heartfelt condolences.

I think your question is how common is cancer in min pins? Cancer can occur with any breed of dog, just like with people. Not sure if it is more common in min pins than other dogs. I have owned several min pins and none of them ever had cancer. What type of cancer did he have?

When a pet dies, it is like losing a relative. The pain is deep and real. Just think about all the good times you had together. I find this helps, write him a poem or a letter and tell him how much he meant to you. How much you loved him and how he will be missed. Putting your thoughts down to your dog really does help. It will take time to feel better. He lives on in your heart. God Bless.

I don't understand your question either. But I do know what you are going though. No joke here...Yesterday 11-3-2006 my Justice was put down because of cancer. I'm so sorry for your lost. Hope this helps you...

A Prayer After the Loss of a Pet

Dear God,
My pet was so special. The death of this beautiful animal has left me empty and depressed.
Please help me bridge this paralyzing time with the memories of the joys we shared.
Let me always focus on the delight my pet brought to my life.
Animals are such a wonderful part of the world you created, and the loss of this will be with me always,
I may, in time, share my life with a new pet, but the memories of this one will never be replaced.
Amen

I also adopted a Rottie on 10-31-2006 to help me get past the loss of my Justice.

Cancer is the leading cause of death in pets if you discount accidents

Many cancers can be linked to ingredients in low quality dog food - specifially the preservatives BHT and BHA.. also Ethoxyquin, which is the chemical pesticide used to preserve by-products...

also from car fumes, and chemicals used in the homes...

pets have smaller lunger and smaller organs in general.. so if exposed to toxins they are at bigger risk... also they hide their pain better so owners are not always aware until its too late..

I am sooooo very sorry your doggie died. Mine died two days ago, totally unexpectedly, stomach torsion....too late to do anything for him. I know exactly how you feel...I am broken hearted and it will take me a long time to get over this...silly, I know..a grown man being so grief stricken by the loss of his dog. I cannot help how I feel.
