Some people do now understand the difference between occupation and war. War is easier for most folks to conceptualize.

I don't really know what to call it anymore.
Iraq has self-government, so its not an occupation. Simple.
Its not a war either, its a conflict, if you even go that far.
Quagmire might be a good term for it. Just Iraq?

It SHOULD be the occupation of Iraq now that Bush declared all major operations in the area over, but with terrorist cells still fighting as heavy as they were during the invasion, it should still be considered a war zone.

Come on over and see if you can tell the difference. The IEDs won't kill you nearly as fast in as occupation as a war? And the bullets are a lot softer too? Who cares what you call it? If its just a name game to you then it really doesn't matter much does it?

True but they are getting ready to announce Saddam's sentence, possibly death, and the Sunnis are going to crank up the violence. Many of the Iraqi police and soldiers have not been supplied with weapons or ammo so our soldiers will be in even more danger.

Because Americans are still dying over there for what reason again? Terrorism?? They were from Saudi Arabia the guys who hyjacked the planes.

technically we do occupy irak. but we can not just go ahead in front of all the other big European countries and say we occupy irak. we have to make it seem like a war so we get what we want out them.

An armed conflict can be a war if you are one of the combatants.
