My girlfriend is joining a sorority and during the pledging process she's not allowed to see me, any of her friends, or family. I do not think this is right. What do others think of this?

It's been 4 weeks so far and this has never been cool with me. It has been so hard... and even though i still see her every day or every other day, I'm set with all these restrictions. I can't talk loud in her room because someone might here. I can't be seen going into her room. And so much secrecy to see her... most people would think it'll be fun or romanitc... it's not. And it's killing me.

What should I do? I'm definately NOT going to BREAK UP with her. But I don't know what to do. When i bring it up she turns me down... am i wrong? Is what they do right? It just doesn't seem fair that I suffer when she's pledging... and that her family worry and so do i. Help!

Once the pledge process is over everything will go back to normal. Have some patience. This segregation of her from her normal friends and family is supposed to create stronger bonds within the sorority. If you push her to see you when she's asked you not to, you may find her breaking up with you... give her the space she needs and when pledging is over, she will know that you support her in her goals, and se will tell all her friends what a terrific boyfriend you are.

is she joining a sorotiy or a cult? don't get me wrong, i'm a proud member of a panhellenic sorority, but we never had any restrictions like that during our new member period!

She has DECIDED to do this, knowing what it means.
sounds like she is cheating to see you anyway.
You might just suffer thought this to let her be a sister.
Quit being a whiner and endure it as best you can.

if you're definitely not gonna break up with her why are you asking a question at all? you're gonna have to wait. think of all the cool parties and events y'all can go to after she is a member.
