well i write down everything i eat...its sorta like the weight watchers diet but i never go into the meetings or anything..
so every day i write everything i put in my mouth basically water, meat, bread, so on! there are points for everything u eat and a point range that you want to be in between...so i just make sure i dont go over the point range..and then i weigh after one week
i have been doing it for 4 weeks and i have lost 15+ pounds...
i'm doing it to stay in shape for sports so i wasnt really planning on losing too much weight but my dad went on it...and he was for 4 weeks and has already lost more than 30 lbs...it effects people differently but overall it works..
but also if u excercise for 30 minutes a day youll start losing...
just if u jog a mile a day...that is so good for ur heart and your body.
and as far as the food...just stay off the junk food and try to buy some weight watchers books to calculate the points totals...

You cannot lose 50 lbs in a month and a half. It is a dangerous thing to even attempt. But it sounds like you need to change your lifestyle. I have several tips for you.

First, walk. You will need to walk for 15 - 20 minutes at least 3 times each week. Try to do it every day if you can. The key is to walk briskly, and work major muscle groups (legs, butt and back). Get your heart and breathing rate up for 15 - 20 minutes each time. This will burn calories, as well as tone your legs back, and heart.

Second, stop drinking soda. Any soda, even diet. Regular soda is liquid sugar, and packs on the pounds. Diet soda has been shown in at least a few studies to actually increase appetite. So, while you don't get calories from the soda directly. It makes you hungry, so you eat more food. Switch instead to water. It will quench your thirst better than anything else. If your family can afford it, try bottled waters. Refill them from the tap a few times. But don't keep them more than a day or so because batreria will start to accumulate (which can make you sick).

Lastly, Every time you crave a snack, minimize sweet things, and carbohydrates (like bread, and crackers). They are packed with calories. Instead eat fresh fruits and vegetables. They are sweet and crunchy, and will satisfy your cravings. If you're still hungry, have a little cheese. The fat and protien in it will stop your hunger sensation. But not too much cheese (a slice or two), as it is high in fat, and salt.

Your keys to a healthy lifestyle is plenty of excercise, and a healthy, varied, moderate diet. Please stay away from diet pills. They will not help you make the lifestyle change that you need to make.

Good luck, and take care of yourself!

If you follow this advice, you will lose weight at a health rate. Maybe that's not as fast as you want now, but it will start the lifestyle change that you need.

Amputate your hands. Not only do you get an immediate weight loss but then you can't eat.

Okay, seriously... from the top....

If you doc told you to lose 50 pounds, and you're in danger of having a heart attack or being diabetic (soon, as opposed to later in life?) then your doctor should've had an idea for a diet for you.

I suspect that your doc didn't say you were in danger of those things anytime soon, right? Just later in life if you don't change things soon... right?

You're looking at a "diet" as something you "do" until you "lose the weight." After that then you just hope the weight stays off... right?

Unfortunately, that kind of thinking is what has brought you to this point. You need to change your LIFESYTLE.

First, you need to learn to eat right. Everyone has to learn that sooner or later, and you've been cursed with bad genetic code that says you gotta learn it now. I'd suggest that you and your parents go to a group like Weight Watchers so you can learn to eat lots of good food that doesn't make you fat.

Second, you must exercise. I don't care if you walk, run, dance, swim, ride... you gotta burn more calories. You don't have to be competitive, just have to enjoy doing it.

Third -- you need to lose 1-2 pounds per week MAX. If you lose it faster than that you're gonna gain it all back the minute you stop working at it.

To lose 1 pound a week you either have to cut 500 calories out of your diet a day (roughly one order of fries), or burn 500 more calories a day (roughly one hour of hard exercise), or a combination of both.

oh wow 7th grade and your in this condition? you need more of a life goal not just till christmas goal b/c if you rush you weight loss to much , you diet would probley be unhealthy. Nutrition and excirsice is all i have to say. Eat protien and no breads/ carbs unless whole grain. protien i dont mean nice juicy red steak lol i mean tuna and chicken breast. If you have small portions for 2 weeks you'll get fuller quicker b/c your stomach will shrink. At night start doing some sit ups before bed or squates...lunges..push ups..anything ....even a nightly jog. but just look up stuff online and theres no need to lose that much weight so quick. Strive for tiny goals that will lead to you major goal. like today i'm going to eat this and not this, tomorrow im going to run this far in this time. (if you lift do light weights and more reps like 3 sets of 12 which is median right weight)

this site will help tell you what your weight should be and make it reasonable and stop with all the junk food...you should feel guilty for what u eat!

Alright, stick with me and I will see you through 'til the end.
I am a personal fitness trainer, and I also study nutrition.
First things first, get up and work it out! Start slow and work your way up. Walking is wonderful, and easier on the joints. Dancing to your favorite music is great too! Work up a sweat because when you are sweating, you are burning calories. Joining a gym would be nice, but if that isnt possible, buy a dvd of yoga or pilates. Do it EVERYDAY. Next, cut out that sugar! Replace it with fresh fruits. Then cut out ALL fried foods! Ask your family to bake it or broil it. Lowering your salt intake helps with blood pressure and water weight, so no more salt. Then, trade all of your white, non nutritious breads, crackers and pastas, for whole grain nutritious ones. Lastly, dump the juice and the soda. Drink as much water as possible. Water will fill you up, and save you from extra calories. Add lots of colored, steamed or raw fresh/frozen veggies. Don't add butter. Instead add butter buds. It is a seasoning without fat. Whole grain sandwiches are wonderful!. Use mustard instead of mayo, and add fresh onion, lettuce, and tomato if you'd like. Try to purchase lunch meats from the deli, not pre- packaged meat, due to the salt content. Get an adult to bake a chicken or turkey for you, and you can add that to a sandwich, or a salad all week. Use olive oil mixed with apple cider vinegar, and a dash of garlic salt as a great salad dressing. Try to inspire others to get healthy with you. It will help everyone to work together. Keep active everyday. You can email me at mamaofthesweetest4@yahoo.com if you need anything.
Good luck sweetie,

the best goal is to lose 10% of your body fat, like if you weigh 180 lbs loose only 18 lbs for now. then after that you would weigh 162, so loose only 16, until you are at a healthy weight. not good to loose 50 that fast plus you will gain all of it back and more, but if you try to lose only 1-2 lbs a week, it will stay off, try drinking 6 glasses of water a day, and stop eatting sugar, like candy and cake and pop. walk or excersize every day, if you need to just do 200 jumping jacks a day.

Logistically, there is NO way you can lose 50 pounds by Christmas..however, you CAN make a big difference in your weight between now and Christmas by drinking at least 64 ozs. of water each day, eat fresh fruits and veggies instead of candy, junk food, chips and stop drinking soda! Try to eat eggs instead of sugary cereals and stay away from pasta and bread. Limit your condiments (mayo, ketsup, etc.) and try to eat little meals as opposed to large heavy meals. It's very important for you to get at least 30 minutes of physical activity in each day.

Even if you change your eating habits 70% of the time, you WILL see a decrease of weight. GOOD LUCK!

Losing that much weight in that short of time is really dangerous. However, you can go the traditional way of exercising and eating healthy food. Don't go eat at fast food restaurants or those salty chips they sell in grocery stores. Exercising a couple minutes to a couple of hours each day will soon get you losing weight in no time, but of course it'll be a slow process but a great start to a healthy life.

well first I would like to think that you really don't hate everyone especially yourself.

I am curious; if you just saw your doctor why she was not able to start you on a weight loss plan?

I would suggest that you make another appointment to explore your options within a medical structure.

still, the age old rules apply;

exercise each day, you can start off by just walking at least 20 minutes
stop eating at least three hours before you retire for the evening.
drink at least 8 glasses of water daily
eliminate all products made with white flour, pasta, junk food, and soda pop.

helpful websites abound. try oprah.com for one
