I have been bipolar for 10 years now. There's alot of info on bipolar, but I will tell you what I know. Bipolar is an embalance in the brain. One minute your happy and nothing can get you down. It's like your high. Then the next minute your so depressed that your crying all the time thinking your worthless and nothing is going to get better and your better off dead. There are alot of good meds out there today for people with this problem, and they help. If you stay on them. Hope this helps.

What kind of info are you looking for? It is a devestating mental illness that is often unresponsive to treatment.

Thumbs down me if you want, but that is true. I did not say it is NEVER responsive to treatment. And it is devestating. I have a bipolar child, a bipolar brother in law, a probably bipolar husband, and a good friend with a bipolar ex-husband. Not everyone responds to medications. Not everyone can live with the side effects of the medications. Most bipolars do not stay med compliant. Sorry to be a downer, I'm just being realistic based on my experience.

I live a very functional life with bi-polar all my life.....it all depends on how good a pharmacologist your psychiatrist is...I thank God every day that I am "best friends" with my body and that I have a very strong family support....both adult children and siblings...
