I'm using a recipe for a cake that uses lemon-lime soda instead of water.

What is the best kind of soda for this? Sprite? 7 up? Sierra Mist? Please don't answer without experience unless you have some tips, thanks.

I think it doesn't matter, but stay away from diet sodas for baking. I've done that and didn't like the results.

My experience is that any of the lemon-lime sodas work great....except for the diet ones. Stay away from those and you should be fine. Happy Baking!

I think any kind should be fine. To save money you might go to like aldis or another discount grocery store, I think all brands are basically the same, soda is soda.

I've only used 7up, and the pound cake recipe directly from their company is the best I've ever tasted.

It's in a cake. I'd buy whatever store brand was cheapest or on sale that day.
