It would turn me off if a girl were too desperate or needy. I really am against meeting people online, but sometimes it works out for people and I hope it does for you and that you're safe. That's another thing, make sure that if you do meet you're ready. It's hard to know what someone is truly liek over the internet. Bring a friend with you the first time you meet. Good luck I suppose.

People lie about themselves all the time. I know this for a fact. I tried the online dating thing and the guy told me several lies. Nothing major that I know of but still lies. Just like the real world..lol.. Anyway, things didn't work out for us. It is so easy to talk to someone online. It is also easy to get feelings for them, because they are just as lonely as you and you both are giving each other so much attention. Just remember people do lie so what you fall for may not be true.

Stay away from it. You never know who the other person is. Like now, I can be a guy in my mid 20's or a girl in my teens or an old man who likes to screw with you head. And, don't go by sending pics because i can google a pic of anyone.
You may be shy, but there lots of diffrent ways of getting around it. I reccommend www.meetup.com a *great* social web site. Check it out, and its FREE!

Online dating is a scam. You talk to somebody and it really is not them. I know somebody who tried online dating it turned out to be a disater when they meant. For instance she really wasn't who she said she was. This girl was spost to have a job, a decent home to live in. Also an average size women. Turned out to be a 6'3 feet tall women and weighting way more that what she said. So be careful with the online dating because you never know what you could end up with.

it's pretty effective...i know from experience, me and my boyfriend met online and we've been going out for 1yr and 4months.also one of my friends met her bf off the same sight she's the one who gave the sight to me ;) and they are getting married.... you just have to be careful about who you meet online, make sure that person says their who they say they are and meet in a public place never in private.
here are some that i'm on and are pretty good and i like:
www.lovehappens.com
www.match.com
www.true.com
www.okcupid.com
they all have alot singles in whatever your area is...and you can specify who you're searching for
goodluck

my online relationships were just as affective as my "real life" relationships. my advice? make sure you know what the person looks like first before dating her. you dont want to be in love with someone and realize youre not physically attracted to the person.

.......it's excellent corz you can take your time to get to know them first.....Have an open mind and alway's use common sense, then you simply decide whether you like her enough to continue your friendship...Like any situation you will alway's come across dubious people, but if you use commonsense, combined with your instinct's, you should find it quite enjoyable on the internet chatline's.......
