No way! At least not what you are mentioning There are some death and black metal bands like that (my bro listens to them, but I don't). But Maiden, Ozzy, Sabbath, etc. of course not. And for the record Number of the Beast by Maiden was based on a DREAM by Steve Harris they didn't actually do it or anything related to satanism. So to sum things up,no you are not going to hell. Long Live Metal!! \m/

It seems you're a Christian.
Music is beautiful. It can be a blessing, or it can be a curse.
You know that most of that kind of music contains subliminal messages and even open messages against God, moral principles, etc. The name itself "Black Sabbath": in the Bible, the Sabbath is identified as the Lord's day.
Many of these musicians don't hide the fact that they made a pact with the devil.
Music influences the way you are. The type of music you hear, the type of person you are or may become. The music contains messages that the ears can't hear, but the brain can. Many psychologists have proven that, and God had already talked about the influence the music has over people. Unfortunately, many people have commited suicide because of the music they listened.
Originally, music was created for worship. Lucifer, the one who guided the Heavenly chorus, rebelled against God; the music is one of his most powerful tools. He knows about music, since he was given a special talent on music that the other angels didn't have: he can sing in many tones at the same time. Besides, he guided the chorus in Heaven. That's why music can become a dangerous tool in his hands.
On the other hand, when music is meant to worship God, teach about His love and His plan of salvation, it can be a great blessing.
Jesus loves you, remember that. Ask Him to deliver you from that music. He knows you like it and that it's not easy to quit from it. But just let Him get into your heart, and restore you to His own image. Ask Him: "Lord, please help me to quit from that music because I can't do it by my own". He'll work in you, am sure.

NO.. sheesh! There is no satan so there is nothing to fear anyway. All that aside, the only thing listening to Ozzy, Sabbath, Metallica, or Iron Maiden will do is give you about 45 min per CD of enjoyment.

I assume you are kidding. This is an age old piece of junk generated by idiots in churches who don't have enough to do saving themselves, so make everyone else's business theirs. Ridiculous! Listen to your music. I know of no one who went to hell by listening to music. On the otherhand, there is a special place reserved for those "Pius" church goers who think only they have the answers, have an inroad to God. Rot! They should spend their time praying for their pitiful souls, and pitiful they are. These are the same idiots who say Holloween is evil and day of the Devil...funny, I was taught that Holloween is a contraction of Hallow Eve, a holy day in preparation for All Souls Day and All Saints Day. Churches get wierder and wierder with each day that passes. Perhaps it is time for you to find a new church....your time will be better spent than burning music you like. Good luck

Think of it from what the bible says, not all things are bad and not all things are advantageous. Which means you have to use your conscious to make a determination. Consider is the music known to portray things against God? the lyrics are they profane?
Do they sing about violence, or perverted things.
If you are not sure , study you bible more and then think " is what i am listening too identify me as a person in the world or would they know me as a christian , a follower of Christ"

well, this is sort of complicated, but without getting into any other religious debates, i think that if you believe or act in your life in accordance with the music's lyrics.
Would a person who doesnt know english understand heavy metal lyrics?
no.
so if you are just listening, but not contextualizing, or at least if you are maintaining your identity and self control, then i think you should be ok.

No, you won't go to hell for that. Such accusations are just scare tactics by the church. Rock on!!!
ADDITION: If you Dad threw out your cd's, I'm sorry. Get another copy of the stuff he threw out and keep them in a case behind another cd...say behind a Pat Boone cd.lol Saw that on 'That 70's Show', but they did it with vinyl(albums).

Probably. It depends on the song. Your conscience will tell you if you should be listening to it or not, so pay attention. Think about it; if it weren't bothering you, would you be asking this question?
