This is a two part question..
1- for all those parents out there--what rules do you have for your kids and dating...what age they can date, when do they have to be home, how to "behave" on a date.
2- for those teens- what rules do your parents have and how do you feel about them, do you think they are fair?

For the teens- how old are you and what age were you allowed to date?

My parents rules were I had to be 16 then a guy had to ask, of course one never did, I dated my first guy when I was 19 ( bad mistake, we won't go there) then the second guy I dated I've been married to for 13 years!

2. Im 15 years my mom atleast wants me to wait until im 16 until i can go on actual "date". And yes i respect that (unlike most of my friends) because guys are like dogs you never know where they wanna go and what they want to do. So if you are a parent asking this question be careful and be cautious.

As a parent of a both male and female children......

I accompanied their dates at 14, Mall or movies ONLY.
Couple dates at 15, in by 11:00, I meet all the kids.
Son is allowed single dating, he is 17, in by 1:00.
Daughter will be 15 in 2 weeks...........
she will be allowed to couple date ONLY.

Both of them have cell phones that are to be answered anytime I call.

Respect is a two way street............

As they age I am more concerned for their safety..............
My son drives. My daughter will be allowed to car date when she is 16.

No ifs, ands or buts!

When I was a teenager, my parents let me double date at 15. The young man in question had to come and ask my father's permission. Then I had to be home at 11, not 11:01 but at 11.
As soon as we got in the driveway, I had to be out of that car in a flash. He was in walk me to the door, and make sure I was in the house before he left. No, chances of making out in the drive, no goodnight kisses on the porch. I was not allowed to call a boy either. They could not call after 9, or Daddy would not let me talk to them. Daddy was the best birth control a girl could have, after meeting my father, most guys kept their hands to theirselves.

Now, for my kids-15 double dating like me. The boys have to come pick my daughter up and meet us. She didn't date every many guys because she wasn't into all this free sex stuff. She dated one boy several times, but he wanted her to do things she didn't like or want to do. so she dropped him. She started dating a young man when she was a junior in highschool. That was 5 years ago, she's married to him. Both were virgins when they exchanged their vows. My son, 16 hasn't meet a girl yet that he wants to go through all the hassle with yet. He just likes hanging out in a group. But when he does date, he will have to be in at 12, just like my daughter till he turns 18. Our home isn't a hotel, and they aren't treat it like such.

My daughter said we weren't tough enough on her when growing up. I don't believe in spanking, then again my kids haven't never done anything bad enough to be spanked. I have 2 blessings. My son knows the rules about keeping his hands to hisself, and he better follow them. I am too damn young to be grandma!

God bless us all................

I`m a number 2 that`s for sure. My parents let`s just say they aren't a walk in a park. They give me no freedom what-so-ever. I sometimes can't go to parties or hang out with my friends because of my mother being afraid I'll get "rape" or do something in appropriate. i am very responsible, get-good-grade, president of the student body and NJHS and yet I don't ever get out of the house to be with friends.

I feel that my parents are being totally unfair, but of course I have to beg to go hang out, or go to parties, oh and when I really want to go, I ge to go, if not I make my parent's life a living hell. Hey, you only get to be 13 once.

Make them allowed to date in highschool.. they will anyways but they will lie and sneak out, do it anyways so if you want honesty you have to be reasonable...their hormones are more powerful then your rules!!!
