Why the hell would you pretend you didnt see him? all that is gonna do is cause further problems. The excuse never works... the officer knows you saw them, and can get you for evading arrest. Do you want to add further problems onto what was already done? They might be pulling you over for something simple like having a taillight or tag light out, and you avoiding them will add a ticket or jail time to a simple warning. You need to remember something.... we all have jobs to do, and police officers are no different. They are simply doing their job, and aren't set out to ruin your life. Yes, they do have the power to screw everything up, and there are always some crooked cops out there who will take advantage of the power, but almost all of the officers are simply following the law. They see you break the law, so they enforce it. Its really that simple. If you are speeding then they might just give you a friendly warning to slow down- remember that traveling at excessive speeds puts not only your life at risk, but the lives of those around you. The laws were created to keep us all safe and living peacefully amongst ourselves. If there were no police officers, this world would be in complete chaos. Just remember the next time that you are getting pulled over that the officer has a family, and understands where you are coming from. They deserve as much respect as the next person- more, in fact, in my opinion because they carry the weight of everyone on their shoulders. They protect and serve... thats their motto and they follow it. now i'll step off of my soap box...

If you are a woman driving in an unfamiliar area, and someone tries pulling you over in an unmarked vehicle with license plates that are not state plates, then yes you have a right to call 911 and verify that there is an actual police officer behind you trying to pull you over. If it does in fact to be an officer, pull over stay on the line with dispatch and confirm with officer you have dispatch on the line and why you were hesitant. If its a marked cruiser, you better pull over, or you are an idiot.

First, you would crap your pants. The officer would get on the radio and call his co-workers as soon as you failed to stop. They have WAYS of making you stop. If you got to your house without being road blocked or stop sticked ... the officer would probably treat the situation as a felony stop. I doubt you would make it to the front door. The officer has the right to continue the chase right into your house, even if they have to break down the door. They probably would do that. You would be charged with as many traffic offenses as the officer saw, plus reckless driving, driving to evade arrest, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, and a few other misdemeanors and/or felonies. YOU keep in mind that at two in the morning there are still people on the road! Evening shift workers finishing a couple of hours overtime, Day shift workers getting an early start on their day, delivery drivers, truck drivers, etc. Driving like a maniac at 2:00 AM still endangers others, even if you do not believe it.

if there are lights and a siren you pull over. if you don't you ad resisting arrest or reckless driving and failure to obey a lawful police order and that's for starters. Then he'll check you for wants warrants run your insurance, search your vehicle, give you a DWI test, check your passengers for ID and all of the above, charge them as accessories to whatever you did wrong. Basically make you have a bad day or night. Pull over immediately, be nice not nervous, have all your paperwork ready and treat the police person like a decent human being that is doing there job and maybe he/she will cut you a break, and don't lie because that wastes everyone's time and gets people angry when caught.

Always pull over unless you are in a remote area without other cars, then I would continue to drive to a safe spot...like a gas station. Especially at night.
If you chose not to stop make sure you call 911 and explain the situation. They will dispatch to the officer so that he doesn't try to shoot you down.
Some freaks of nature pretend to be cops...just to jack or kidnap women....be careful out there.

It depends. In this day and age and criminals impersonating police and firemen to get access, you have to be careful. Make sure it is a marked car. Call the station to make sure there is indeed a cop making a stop in your location. And if you are in doubt, wait and pull over in a well-lit, well-populated area.

Well since they have BRIGHT , FLASHING red and blue lights... I would pull over!!!
What does help is to listen carefully to the questions you are asked.....if the officer asks "do you know why I pulled you over?"
Say no or I'm not sure...anything else is an admission of guilt.....
I've gotten out of a few tickets that way....

Never pull over in an unlit remote area - drive to a safe, lit and populated area and then pull over. Unless you were really driving like a jerk the officer should understand your delay in pulling over.

You could pretend you didn't see him but I think you may end up with some flat tires and a few fail to stop charges.
