I suffer from mild anxiety, does anyone have any suggestions. I don't even know where to start, my doctor says I'm just too stressed.

Klonopin is a non addictive drug for mild attacks. If they ever become serious, Xanax is the only drug that will stop them completely. Also, try increasing your Vitamin B, and B-complex levels.
Note: Zoloft is an anti-depressant drug, not created for panic attacks.

I have an anxiety disorder so I can relate. I hate the fact that everyone is just telling you to get on medication. Medication is not the answer. Medications can be very helpful on a temporary basis, this is not a long term fix. Cognitive behavior will help you in the long run. You can find a therapist who specializes in it, they do exist. Cutting out stimulants is an excellent idea, someone else mentioned. They can mimic a panic attack with out you even having one. Letting yourself know that no one has ever died from an anxiety/panic attack can help, it helps me. I tell myself its only anxiety it will go away...they always do. Do a breathing exercise... belly breath in through your nose for 2 seconds, out of your mouth for 4 seconds, do that for at least a minute. Or, get your mind busy on something else until it passes. www.stresscenter.com has a forum area that is great and you don't need to go through the program to use them. Best of luck to you.

I have a severe case of Anxiety Disorder and it took me a long time to control it. I've been on numerous prescriptions for it. Zoloft is what I found works best. But if you don't have it all the time like I do and only occassionally, find a way that works for you to get rid of them. Meditate, sleep, watch a movie, take a bath. Take a day off of work and have a "you" day.

That's the best I can do because it is different for everyone. Good luck, I know how horrible panic attacks can be.

I know how you feel. The first thing you need to do is cut out all caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol in your diet. These 3 things can intensify the anxiety. To help me cope w/ anxiety I have read a lot of self help books. They made me realize I did not love myself. I think most people that have anxiety have problems accepting who they really are. Once I began to feel comfortable in my own skin, things got a lot better.

I am someone whose health was shattered by the drugs that doctors prescribe for anxiety. It's far, far better to find ways to cope with your anxiety than it is to medicate it out of existence.

If you do consider a medicine, AVOID anything from the benzodiazepine family (Valium, Klonopin, Xanax, Ativan and many others). Benzos are horribly addictive, harder to quit than heroin. My benzo was Klonopoison.

Try things like meditation, yoga, rhythmic breathing, sports that you enjoy, etc.

You might also consider things like chamomile tea.

You need to relieve some stress from your life. Try a career change (I know from experience). Try going to the gym or joining a martial arts class to blow off some steam.

If you do find yourself having an attack, try to sit down and regulate your breathing. Just take long deep breaths (about one second in, hold for a half second, two seconds out...) and focus only on the breathing for a few minutes.

Try discussing your fears with a counselor then you need to relax and not anylze what your doing and try to have fun doing it. Take baby steps breathe deeply and try to think of the things you love. I would also suggest trying Yoga I heard that it helps with anxiety disorders.

stress is a culprit, but so is anything containing caffiene.

the other issue is that those with liver disease also have a higher chance of panic attacks do to the liver inability to filter toxins.

viral infections such as hepatitis c (or any other virus) do pass the blood brain barrier and cause an upset in how the chemicals in the brain react to one another.

i would get a liver panel done along with a hepatitis c panel. (regular liver panel tests do not always give a clear picture) especially with hepatitis c as not always the alt and ast levels are affected.
