Okay. what if there were too many of a certain animal and that they would be reproducing like rabbits. Would you kill them for the sake of humanity or would you let nature take its course and let them starve from over population and bring their numbers to check.

interesting but technically humans are living creatures so they count as well. Continue reflecting and discussing

Funny you should say rabbits, because they were introduced to Australia in 1859 and despite all attempts to eradicate them, they overran the continent in 10 years. They still live in Australia. People are like that. We have overrun the Earth and nothing is going to stop us. Not pollution, not overpopulation, not war, not starvation, not global warming, not an asteroid. We will survive everything. We may not be comfortable or even happy, and our population may decline, but we will survive like the rabbits did in Australia. Hopefully we will do even better, reaching a comfortable balance with nature, but one way or another we are here to stay.

The guy that said humans? We are the #1 ecological problem facing this earth right now.
To start, we have eliminated most of the natural causes that would keep our population in check.

2nd, we have created ALL plant & animal overpopulation by severely altering the balance of preditor & prey, disease organisms, selective overuse of resources, greed in the use of those resources, & the very chemical balance of our atmosphere.

The only way to eliminate natural imbalance is to reduce the human influence. We will not need to thin out by human means the human population. (though eliminating 9 out of 10 Americans & 8 out of 10 Europeans would probably give the rest of the world another 200 or 300 years.) That will be taken care of by Mother Nature herself. When this world is exhausted to the point of being unable to sustain most human life, some life forms will survive., and prosper & evolve. Just ask the dinosaurs.

Funny you mentioned deer. They are a threat to the survival of other plant & animal species because their preditors have all but been eliminated, thus overpopulating their range. By browsing the existing food supply on the ground so much only brush and food poor weeds survive, the food other ground dweeling animals need to survive is getting scarce. One of those animals is the wild rabbits.

Think about mosquitoes. We spray for them annually to control their pop. We also have controlled hunting seasons for deer and bears for that reason as well.If we let nature take its course, there would be far too many deer accidents, at least where I live.

ohhh you mean human beings right. well for starters i would go to the middle east and mow dow say 500 million sence there gonna blow them selves up anyway. or go to africa and kill the same number sence they do breed like rabbits. kill native species. and chop down precious bornio rainforest.

or go to india (1 BILLION) where they are over crowded with mice and cows and get rid off say a third or more. or china (ANOTHER 1 BILLION) and remove say half or more

well once i am done playing human pest controll there would be 1 billion left alive. and they would spent there days repairing the hidious damage left by a species gone mad
