Yes u can, actually there are two options for hyperthyroid patients: methimizole and propilthiouracil; between these two the only one who is highly bound to the serum proteins (albumin) so is not likely to cross the maternal barrier nor go to the breast milk, propilthiouracile. However this is a theorical answer, and the best one who can for sure evaluate all your posibilities is your doctor, he needs to review your T4/T3 levels and decide whats the best for you.

Not likely please check with your Dr. I had hyperthyroidism and that was the reason I could not breastfeed my son it may be that if your on a very small dosage its possible but.. the thyroid has to be checked regularly and I wouldn't risk it myself! Now thats just opinion so if you are set on it you definately need monitoring!!

I don't know your specific medicine but check the label. If it says 'if pregnant or breastfeeding, ask a doctor', ask a doctor. If it doesn't say anything about breastfeeding, you're probably fine.

anti thyroid drugs, (eg: propylthiouracil, etc) can be secreted in breast milk. thus it can reduce the level of thyroid hormone in ur baby. thus it will affect the growth and development. thyroid is very essential in the development of the brain functions... so consult your doctor before breastfeeding when taking anti-thyroid drugs.
