if he is uncomfortable just give him paracetamol to help with the pain management...other than that i would wait until you see a doctor...to me it sounds like he may have a middle ear infection...

He needs to be checked out. This is not the norm. When the lymph nods are swollen, that's an indication of infection. Don't let this sicken be prolonged just because he doesn't have a fever. You can also call 1800-ask-anurse or go to webmd.com. But he's got something. He shouldn't have that feeling in his ears either. Those sores around his nose and lips is part of the infection. His immune system is getting weaker as this infection lives longer in his body. I'm not sure what type of infection he's got, but it's in his blood stream coming to the outside of his body.

I am not a Doctor, and he needs to see one, if hes up on his immunizations then it should not be mumps, although it could happen.
It sounds like he has a strep-throat infection, this would account for the sore throat, and the sores on his nose and mouth.
And a ear-infection, if you are giving him over-the-counter medication for pain or cough, they sometimes have Tylenol or Motrin that will mask fever.
Or he has the flu?
The lymph glands also indicate a strep-infection.

Sounds like the flu or an ear infection. The dr will probably give him some antibiotics and have your mom ask for ear drops they have some with a pain reliever in them they are great.

If there was no fever I would guess he had a bad cold which caused his ears to become blocked, and brought on an ear infection. The cold sores are the result of the herpes virus being triggered by the illness. I hope that he can be treated before the ear infection causes some hearing loss (which can happen).

It may be a sinus infection but it sounds a bit worse than just an infection. You could try webmd and look up his symptoms. They are usually helpful. Taking him to the hospital is the best thing. Good luck to you and I hope he gets better soon.

he probably needs to be on antibiotics but may be a virus too. but not going to know until a medical provider looks in those ears!
probably don't need to go rushing to the emergency room tonight though. sounds like it can wait til the am.

often a cold or flu will NOT be accompanied by a fever.
Yes, it is best to get him to a doctor as soon as you can.
in the meantime, keep him warm, give him clear liquids and some tylenol.

call you brother's pediatrician they can at the least tell you what to do to make him comfortable. (what you should give him) if his ears hurt try putting a warm compress on it that might help a little. My son liked that until I was able to get him in. Good luck. Hope he feels better soon. But you should really get him in as soon as your parents can. nice to see a sister soo concerned. :)

Take him to a doctor now. If your parents won't go behind their backs, call a cop, a social worker, tell your teacher all are supposed to act immediately. It is the law.
