I think going to the movies would be an ideal first date because it's not that big of a deal, it's casual, and you two can easily bond over it. You could talk about the movie afterwards and when the DVD comes out, you can reminisce about the first date.

I think one of the best first date places for anyone, but especially teens, is a casual place like a coffee house. Some people like StarBucks, I know we have a lot of little local coffee houses.
It's casual, cheap...and whenever you or her feel its time to leave, you can easily get up.
If you're at dinner, and things get awkward, you still have to finish dinner!
Movies are good, but some people may feel awkward. THe point of a date is to get to know someone enough that you wanna keep seeing them. If you're watching a movie, you can't be getting to know them.
Parks are nice, but only in the afternoon, never take a date to a park at night, unless you guys have been dating for a while, she trusts you guys had plans to do so.
I run a christian teen ministry and these are just things some of our teens have told us.
So good luck!

I would suggest something with some mutual friends, but in a kind of intimate place so that you can still get to know each other. I would try a couple of other friends at a small restaurant or at a park/zoo/museum. The park/zoo/museums gives you a lot of freedom because if you do feel comfortable you can get away from the crowd for a more intimate experience ;)

Since neither of them can drive I'd meet there. Also I wouldn't suggest the group dating because then it takes away part of the memory of it being just the 2 of you. I'd say go to the movie it's dark but you don't have to do anything based on the movie I'd go to a comedy myself.

Go for an ice cream or coffee, ether one would be great. You want your first date to be light, and friendly. You can always make the second, or third date a movie, or dinner. Meet at the ice cream parlor or coffee shop. Good luck!

They should go out in a group of friends. As the saying goes, there is safety in numbers.......for a variety of reasons.

I think that a good place would be the mall or skating or bowling. Someplace where they are not surrounded by family or friends but they are not alone, either.
