Safe surrender in ohio, I'm pretty sure. You can leave the baby at a police station, a hospital, fire department...but not just on the street. That's abandonment, and that's not legal.

It's called a safe haven law as long as you hand the baby to a police man, a firefighter, or someone responsible you won't be charged with abandonment. Go to Oprah. com and check out yesterday's show. It was about this.

Legal abandonment. You may not like the act but the baby has a better chance.

Some states have Safe something where you can leave the baby at a hospital or Firestation, Police Station. If you don't want your baby please make sure you leave it somewhere so someone will find it soon babies need warmth and medical care. Please leave it in a well populated area.
