Try taking some extra strength tylenol, and swish warm water with a little salt in it. You can also try using a warm or cold compress, whichever works best for you. I've been having wisdom teeth pain as well as a front tooth which I think is going to need a root canal and this is getting me through the weekend.
btw, I wouldnt waste my money on orajel, it tends to wash away after a couple minutes anyways.

Tooth aches are usually related to some form of tooth/root or gum infection, and an infection anywhere in the head cause a world of problems, eye pain and head aches are actually minor compared to some people's issues. I had a tooth ache that literally knocked me unconcious with pain. The absessed tooth had to be extracted, but the infection still hung around for a couple more months. See a dentist, and an eye nose throat specialist, and give each of them the other's business card so they may compare notes and better decide a treatment

Toothache
OUCH! My tooth hurts. Well it can be cause by many things, but here are some temporary quick fixes to the problem:
If your toothache is caused by trapped food you should rinse the area with warm water and swish it about, it might losen whatever is causing the pain.
A cotton ball soaked in lime juice can be placed on the tooth. Actually since you have the cotton in your mouth why not try an imitation of the Godfather, well, it's just a suggestion.
You can also try using this poultice, steep a teaspoon of yarrow in hot water, drain the liquid with a piece of gauze, then put it on the tooth.
Now if you have a constant toothache, please visit the dentist, he won't hurt you, I promise, maybe I better not promise, but go anyway, you'll feel better.

I had a really bad tooth ache just a couple of weeks ago and my dentist told me to take ibuprofen, because it helps with the inflamation. You can take up to 800 miligrams every 4 to 6 hours. There is something you can buy at the local drug store and all it really is, is seasame seed oil and you apply it the top of the tooth with a little cotton ball. I don't remember the name of it though.

I suggest you see a dentist as soon as possible. Toothaches mean something is wrong and you need to take care of it before it gets worse.
I have heard of putting an asprin on a tooth, but I am not sure that is a good idea if you don't know what's wrong with it. If you have a abscess, that is very dangerous.

In addition to using the pain medication of your choice, sleep on an extra pillow to elevate your head. Sleep on the side that does NOT have a toothache. If that doesn't work, you can move to a recliner or the sofa so you can keep your head really elevated. This will minimize the blood flow to the area and therefore minimize the throbbing and pain. This might help you make it through the night until you can see a dentist.

If you don't have any pain killers around the house, try a few Tylenol along with a heating pad. Try gargling with warm salt water and try to sleep with your head elevated. (it hurts worse when you lay down.) I have had many a toothache and its the worse hurt in the world besides childbirth. Good-luck!
