Is it really so morally pernicious to do so?

An important detail that I have forgotten to add; I don't plan to commit suicide. This is just a hypothetical question. :P

No, he shouldn't commit suicide. It is morally wrong, it is murder of self.

I think he should figure out why he is "hated" which is a very strong word and used as an absolute by saying "everyone". I don't believe that is true at all.

I would suggest this person seek out counseling and talk over issues that have led to this point. This will bring better insight into what the problems are and then healing and change can begin. Committing suicide is never the answer.

Morally pernicious, no. Stupid, yes.

You would change your mind if you knew what was on the other side. Its not hell (not really), but it is not what the suicide seeks. In truth, the freedom and escape that suicides are looking for does not exist. One can stop feeling sorry for oneself and seek happiness while alive. That option vanishes with death.

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. If a person is miserable there are ways to relieve that. Not everyone can hate you. That is an exaggeration. If the problem is removed the person become easier to like or he can find new friends. Don't do something drastic and irreversible when a solution is possible.

NO NO NO--YOU SHOULD NOT COMMIT SUICIDE!! WHO GIVE A DAMN IF SOME FREAKS HATES YOU--AND MAYBE NO ONE HATES YOU AT ALL. IN ANY CASE YOU DESERVE TO LIVE AND YOU CAN LIVE BY GETTING A GOOD PSYCHOLOGIST AND TRY TO FIND OUT WHY YOU ARE SO UNHAPPY/MISERABLE. YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO FEEL SO BAD--I WAS THERE AND WITHOUT THE INTERVENTION OF A PSYCHOLOGIST I WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD. DON'T GIVE UP---NEVER GIVE UP THERE IS HAPPINESS TO HAVE. IT WON'T BE OVERNIGHT BUT KEEP TALKING TO SOMEONE YOU TRUST-GET THE RIGHT PSYCHE DON'T STOP SHOPPING TILL YOU CAN SAY I DON'T NEED THESE LOOSERS--AND IF THEY DO SEND SIGNALS OF HATING YOU THEY NEED TO WORK ON THEIR OWN HEADS-DON'T LET ANYONE INFLUENCE NEGATIVITY. YOU ARE WORTH FINDING HAPPINESS AND THE HELL WITH THE LOOSE RS!
GOOD LUCK FRIEND!!!!!!!!

Believe me, I have felt this way before. I've read many books on self help and they explain this kind of stuff. You are constantly thinking that people don't like you, in sense, you are giving off a negative vibe to others causing them to not like you. You have to be positive on the inside and love yourself for others to like you. You're probably wondering How do I do this? Well, you start by realizing the negative things you are thinking about yourself daily. After that, the strongest negative thought you think the most needs to be replaced w/ a positive one. For example: I Hate Myself, replace w/ I love myself even if you don't feel that way at first, just do it. Also, try doing nice things for people. It will make you feel better about yourself. The self help books really opened my eyes to my inner self. The positive or negative energy that is drawn to us all has to do w/ our subconscious mind. Good Luck

First of all, not everyone hates him. Has he gone to his doctor for counseling/medication? Suicide is not the answer; call a suicide help line and speak to someone who can point you in the right direction.

NO! There is nothing in the world that is worth taking your own life. This person should seek professional help or perhaps, if possible, relocate and start anew.
There is always a reason to smile if you look hard enough.

Everyone...hmmmm quite a term....i dont think this person has met everyone...and if a person is miserable, they should seek ways to love themselves..there are cases that i believe taking your life is understandable and it is a freedom which each one of us has..it sounds to me though like this "person" has not been around people who truely DO care and maybe should stick around and see how the other half lives....

The idea that everyone hates him is only fabrication of his depression....

Once he gets at the root of his depression, he will see that it is ridiculous to believe that "everyone hates him".... the sadder fact is that most people don't care at all.... they don't even care enough to hate him...

He just has to accept some responsibility for his own happiness and make it where he can.

If this is you, then please, just find a good counselor to talk with - one that will not just get you hopped up on meds and send you on your way.... someone who will actually provide some useful counseling.
