It does NOT take a belief in God or anything related to be a good person. It takes common sense and the realization that only people can change their lives around. When a community comes together to rebuild a home lost to fire, tornado, or whatever, everyone is saying that It's God's work, but looking at the news coverage of such events, I don't see God, I see normal human beings doing what is right not, because God said so, but because their own hearts said so. People need to stop giving credit to a non-existent being for the hard work they, the people, have accomplished. It's very sad that this doesn't happen often enough for other people to realize that they're the ones making the difference because they want to, not because God said to.

No one actually said they are bad. Just lost souls.
Free will.
It's up to them.
It's like people who don't beleive oil is running out or Global Warming is real.
In 500 years if we still have oil people will have egg on their faces.
In 100 years of you can't see the sun people will have egg on their faces.
It's a matter of WHO will wear the egg.
No one knows for sure.
We wait it out and see what happens.
If it's like the Fundamentalists say, then all who are not Born Again, Baptsized Christians are in trouble and have to stay on the rotting Earth.
If it's more moderate then maybe some Atheists can also go with God and some Fundamentalsits won't.
If it doesn't happen at all then Christians just waisted their time for nothing, but there's no harm done. What did you do all those year? Pray, try to live a good live, beleive in something that wasn't actual?
It's not like you gave up working or living. NO Christian does that!
Fundamentalists play a number and color
Moderats pass or don't pass
Atheists don't play the game at all
Atheists then pretend like it doesn't matter to them if someone wins a billion dollars on 25 Red and others win a few million on PAss or Don't pass, they are happy with their little paychecks and point to all the people who lost because they had a nother number or color.
If the house wins, the religious simply go off with a bit of a loss while the Athiest stays status quo.
That's all it amounts to
It's your money, you have free will, you decide what to do with it.
Life is a gamble and Atheists choose not to go into the Casino.

I LOVE this question! I am a Christian and think you would find an EXCELLENT answer--that is, if you are truly wanting to hear what "the other side" has to say, rather than riling the Christians up, lol. And I really get the idea that you are wanting to hear the best somebody has to answer on this one. There is a book by C.S. Lewis called Mere Christianity. Don't read the forward, but read the first chapter, and even if you find it interesting, the first 3 chapters. It TOTALLY explains your question! That there is good in the world and how it all ties together. I know that I am not giving an answer, but just pointing to an answer. Yet it's so incredibly intelligent and so much better than I could ever explain. Not that this answer will get me the best answer (as if I care about points anyway...) but just that it might be worth looking into if you want. Best of wishes to you in your life. I really admire your logical thoughts & sequences.

While I can't speak for all Christians, I do not think atheists are "bad". We as Christians have, what we like to call, free will. It is the freedom to choose God should you accept Him. It doesn't matter what type of person you are. If you are a good person, you'll be a good Christian, if you are a bad person, you will be a bad Christian. It's the same with atheists, as it is in all life. There are many very good people out in the world from all walks of life. However, as a Christian, I believe it takes more than being just a good person to get in to Heaven. Good Luck!!!!

I am a Christian and I never have judged an atheists as being bad I have known some who as you said were good in every sense of the word. I consider them lost wanting logic and reason, proof of God where there is none that is needed. He is with us all Christians and Atheists but for those who don't believe he is waiting for them to come accept him.
And to Hardtime I had to correct you on your statement Jesus was 6000 yrs ago that is Gods son. God has been since the beginning of time...I think that is substantially longer than your family of 10000 yrs ago.

Atheists are not all bad, and Christians are not all good.
Atheists have a problem with morality, charity, and compassion because they have no consistent definition of evil.
Atheists have been deceived by the philosophers of the Enlightenment era, which developed from Protestantism.
Just look at where Rationalism came from.

I agree that this bashing of Christians, atheists and gays is relatively unhappy. As a Christian I have been given on YA to share concepts and ask pertinent questions of different Christians. i'm incredibly appalled on the rudeness and scarcity of know for different peoples ideals. the appropriate war would be sturdy vs evil, or God vs devil. look who wins! Revelations 20: a million-3 20:a million and that i observed an angel come down from heaven, having the substantial of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. Rev 20:2 And he laid carry on the dragon, that previous serpent, that's the devil, and devil, and certain him 1000 years, Rev 20:3 And forged him into the bottomless pit, and close him up, and set a seal upon him, that he ought to misinform the countries not extra, until ultimately the thousand years must be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed somewhat season. compliment God, we win!

Athiests aren't any worse people than Christians. The Bible tells us that "not one is righteous" and that all our good works "are as filthy rags" to God. Only by the grace of God are Christians saved, not because they alone can do "good."
A good question for the Athiest is, "where does your sense of good and bad come from? By what standard do we all get the concepts of fair, unfair, good and bad if not from some higher power?"

God is the template from which al good comes. Created in his image, all humans have the ability to strive for good. (Even Jeffrey Dahmer loved his mother.)
It's our choices that lead us farther away from God's purpose for us.
Why make it harder by choosing to disbelieve in Him?
(And I ,personally, do not associate with any Christians who accuse athiests of being badder than any other human on the planet. Or that satan has a harder 'hold' on them than on others. satan can influence even the strongest Christian if they let him.)
You know what you end up calling athiests who study ways to disprove God's existance? Believers!
